Description
The Thylacine was once one of Australia's iconic creatures like the Kangaroo or Emu, but that was before man had really claimed the continent. As the original penal colony grew, deforestation for farm land and lumber only lead to poaching the creature, finding it a nuisance and something that would kill livestock.Few people considered the Tasmanian Wolf worthy of protection or captive breeding, labeled stupid, dull, and uninteresting. Though a few zoos still wanted to make an attempt, they realized it was too late when in 1936 the last captive Thylacine died of neglect at the Hobart Zoo. She had been locked out of her indoor pen on cold nights and was not fed regularly.
By the 1940's it was official, the Thylacine was indeed Extinct.
While the Quagga was not native to Australlia, I wanted to add it into this piece. Once used as a sturdy pack animal in parts of South Africa, people gradually found it more valuable for its meat and hides, which made excellent leather, and to preserve grazing lands for domestic stock.
Around the 1870's it was rather unanimous that this subspecies of Zebra was extinct in the wild and in August of 1883, the last captive Quagga died at the Artis Magistra zoo in Amsterdam.
While naturally Species do go extinct, yet it is unnatural for man to wipe them out so mercilessly. Quick to label a race or creature expendable as long as it is for his own gain, he is cruel with a history drenched in blood and death.

Really nice work. I used a link to this one to prove a point regarding difference between anthro art and furry porn. I hope enjoy this as much as I do.

I gotta be honest, I absolutely love your antomy and line work! It's great, and your use of accessories is lovely! As your coloring improves, your work will become more great, not that it is not already.
I really love this one.
And, I was perhaps wondering if you'd be interested in a collaboration. I'd really love to work with you. I would totally love to color your line work.

That... would be AWESOME! You are so damn better at coloring then me >.<
What would you like us to make? Hell, we could make this a regular little thing to do together if you'd like, I love doing collab work and I also love seeing my work decently colored by someone who actually knows what they are doing, lol!
Send me a Note with some ideas. If you'd like, I'll draw on bristol and mail it to you to work on, since I've rarely really been one for digital, yuh know? Idk, well work something out.

Dingoes also likely contributed to the thylacine's decline; competition for food resources and territory. Dingoes are not native to Australia for those who didn't know. Nice picture anyhow

I like this piece. It has soul. And at the same time, it makes me ashamed of my species. No that I'm not ashamed of them on a regular basis.

It's a shame what humanity has done over the years. And it saddens me even more to know that there's still more to come if we don't put a stop to it right now.
