Description These are feathers given in my own Clan, this is just a rather general concept/synopsis on the Earning process of the feather, however there are exceptions and leeway.

I am yet to earn my own feather in this regard, but hopefully that may change this Fall on my next visit North. We will see though, I do not mind if it is still not my time to have one, especially since it is something you Earn rather then Achieve.

My Clan's colors are based off of Black and Red with white accents, Yellow being a color of something dangerous and often painted on weaponry.

Settle those hopes, dear XD

North was where I'd once lived around Lake Erie.
And Clan is just a word for my tight-nit family.

I know though.... We all Want ;;;;;

Hope you're well, hun and thank you for checking these out :3

*chuckles* That's a problem we all have. But sometimes you just have to chance it, there have been many works that I've totally fubarred in coloring, but you don't learn if you don't try.
Flipping through your gallery, you imprint well. Goldenwolf and Wildspiritwolf's work really shows in your drawings, so you've got good idles. So it's helping get the lines and character form down, you're progressing, but try not to let yourself get too similar. Get yourself in that artwork, your soul in there too, more then just the artists that inspire you.

It takes a lot of time and we are all still learning, even the ones we look up to.
You'll feel like you fail, that you're not getting things right, but all the more reason to keep trying and developing. Just don't forget, its still supposed to be fun ;3

P.S.
If you happen to have PrismaColor pencils... know that you can set them in a cup of water and when you use them damp, they can be almost just like watercolors.
It took me 4 years of using the colored pencils just as regular colored pencils to finally discover this >...>;;;;;; Hahahahahaha, so like I said, fail happens XD

Just be willing to experiment.

If you're worried about 'ruining' line art, make copies to experiment with, do random doodles and practice.
Things take time and a bit of daring, even if things take a while to finally start coming out the way you want.

*bows back and smiles*

Truly beautiful! I wonder what i would earn. Most likely the Failed hunt as my archery skills are terrible!

Lol, well I'm not much of an archer myself, but the good part is before you take the test to get one of these feathers is you get to have a lot of practice before hand. You aren't just suddenly expected to do it. Practice is done through target shooting and hunting smaller game like Squirrels, Rabbits, Groundhogs, and so on.

Thank you very much for your wonderfully kind comments as well.

RedWolfmoon In reply to ThreeStarWolfie [2010-12-15 21:14:13 +0000 UTC]

lol, well just get some nice feathers, I like to use the inner wing feathers myself, nice and thick, but still a bit long and go to town on them with some sharpies along the stem. That will rub away a bit, so they kinda need touch ups every now and then. Then just paint with acrylics over the feather.

Hence this reminds me to go down and check around the ponds for new feathers >.>

You really drew/colored on these damn things and then scanned them? Damn...

Re: Your next trip North. Sorry I can't bring my artillery to bare. Perhaps if you were to go Duck hunting...

If you do: Just make sure you shoot that damn dog.

RedWolfmoon In reply to Agent-Maus [2010-10-09 16:27:51 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, I did, took me about 15 min per feather, most time taking in the paint drying. Going to walk around the pond today to collect more feathers. ^^ It's fun, only bad part is the red paint I have to use is some of dad's modeling paint, but he doesn't use it cause it needs a white undercoat to really stand out as being RED!

Re: Louis was able to get his Uncle to let us borrow his bow, so Lu is practicing with that. Thank you so much, may take you up on borrowin the Ithaca some time though, maybe hunt some geese!

If I do: I will definitely shoot him, right between his damn chuckling eyes!

These are beautiful i love those beautiful arrows on the Fair Hunt ones stem. So what type of hunting do you do to earn your clan feather?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RedWolfmoon In reply to Tagcat [2010-10-04 18:54:25 +0000 UTC]

Large Game, so that's Deer, Elk, Bison, Moose, etc.

Small Game, like rabbits and birds, are more often considered as being 'Practice Game' and do not earn you any feathers. You hunt them to increase your skills until you are ready to hunt something more difficult.

That one is my favorite too, it's only right for it to be the most decorated, since it is the most frequently earned. Grand Hunt is not too decorated because it's more of a symbol then anything else and Failed has a lot to be desired. LoL
