Description
Made this little thing over the past couple of days.Decided to do a bio. Making it up as I go.
Class: Recon Drone
Control: Automated/Remote
Height: 120.2mm
Weight: 163.4 Grams
Max Jumping Distance: 9.76 ft
Power supply: hyper solar panel (Charges extremely quickly and gives large amounts of power)
The idea is that it has a camera in the middle which can rotate to any position. Firstly the sphere inside the glass casing rotates horizontally and the full glass case rotates vertically. The legs are strong and are capable of launching the bot to a maximum of 5 feet in the air straight up or distance in any direction of around 9.7ft. It is made of a lightweight but extremely tough material capable of withstanding gunfire when in defensive position. Power is supplied by a hyper solar panel located on the under side of the glass casing, which rotates to face the light source. Charging takes 1 to 5mins 1 minute charge lasts 2hrs and 5 minute charge lasts 72hrs. As the solar panel may be left in sunlight the power supply is endless.
Created in 3DS Max 9.
Model time: Including repeated changes to design 2-3 hrs
Render time: 1hr 2mins
Hope you like it.
Thanks for having a look.

Thanks glad you like it, It was rendered using Mental Ray Renderer in 3Ds Max 9 with low quality indirect illumination.

Thanks, I'm in the middle of animation it right now, once I get the walk cycle done I'll upload it. I'll work on putting it in an environment after that. Maybe I'll try the infiltration idea. I'll see what i can do.
Thanks again

That would be a rather cool development for you, nah? ^^ In the meantime, you could work for the film industry creating ideas for movie bound machinery?
...maybe?

Wow i thought it was real until i read "Created in 3DS Max 9"
3ds Max 9 is Autodesk right?
i've just recently started to use that program my first two objects are in my gallery if you want to look...neither is as good as this bot....
I basically take a simple object and toy around with it until i get something i like...
Oh and i got a question...do you know how to make a heart on 3ds Max 9? i've tried and tried...i can't figure out how
i'm wanting something simple like a heart...to toy with the animation and practice the full use of the program.
i haven't got around to doing anything realistic...
Oh and i guess i strayed away from the topic of my comment...it's was meant to be about your image not my abilities on 3ds max 9
I love how you contrasted the silver with gray and did the reflections...hell i love all of it...

Thanks, I've been trying to get realistic looking images, seems like it worked.lol
Ok, Yea, it is Autodesk. I had a little look at your gallery, I can see you've figured out the basics of poly modeling, thats a good start. I can see you haven't rendered the models. In case you are wondering how to, go to 'rendering' tab and select render, you'll get a window with options like changing the dimensions, to render hit the button at the bottom right had corner of the window.
As for making a heart, start with a sphere, you should use the taper option in the modify tab on the right. Then taper it to make the heart point. Then use editable poly or mesh, up to you. and select the vertex option and select the top of the heart, resize by right click and selecting scale or move, resize accordingly till you get the shape you want. Make sure you taper the correct way so that the lines go up and down the heart. hope this helps. That was a lot of typing.lol Good luck in you 3D work. I'll watch you and see how you progress. One piece of advice, be patient, it takes time to work it all out. If you need any more help let me know and I'll try and help.
Thanks again
