Description Because synthesis is the best troll ending ever and my friend @JordynNolz, aka Officer E-Crimes, made it infinitely more better/creepier than it was ever meant to be.

Or they just use the excuse to get some downtime for themselves away from the annoying semi-synthethic organics.

Funny, but you do know that synthesis doesn't add anything organic to synthetics right? It's just more hardware (the framework) that runs more software, this software grants the potential for inherent emotions and feeling. Thus shifting the synthetics from being sapient (Thinking, reasoning) to being sentient (thinking, reasoning, feeling)

I say thing because the misunderstanding that synthetics gaining organic bits is one of the (incorrect) complaints people have about synthesis

Eh. I don't overanalyze it cuz it's still pretty much space magic and lore and I'm not one to think about those very much.

I just like my headcanon that everyone poops out dead batteries now.

Anyone who uses a stupid term "space magic" should probably stay the hell away from ANY science-fiction story.

I didn't know i had to get a permit from the space police to enjoy science fiction. Now i have to retroactively go back in time and kill Phillip K Dick, thanks

Really? You want to go there? Ok, so, tell me all about how people turn into synthetic/organic hybrids. Tell me the precise chemical reaction that causes synthetic material to spontaneously appear in organic material. How does one particular individual jumping into a beam of light on a giant space gun of unknown ability turn everyone into hybridized organic/synthetic beings that share a larger understanding?

Oh wait, this is FICTION. Unless it's an hypothesis that has been verified by testing, theorizing and observation it is not science FACT. Not only that, it's also fiction that was invented not by leading scientists using up to date scientific knowledge, but writers who most likely are making things up and trying to bridge the gap with research and jargon. This is all understandable and forgivable under the guise of storytelling. So calling it space magic is just a humorous way of calling attention to the unexplained mechanisms that drive the story forward. Your remark is petty and insulting and is clearly a deliberate attempt to be an exclusionary, divisive little shit. So let me know when you find a way to prove mass effect fields are a legitimate scientific theory.

Shepard's body serves as a blueprint for nanomachines (which are mentioned on Horizon) to convert all life to organic/synthetic hybrids based on Shepard's own organic/synthetic nature, which are distributed through the galaxy via the Crucible and Mass Relays.

Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic. Especially to neanderthals.

I think we have determined that everyone poops out batteries now. Spent batteries. The size of which is dependent on the size of the thing pooping them. Clearly, we have thought this through WAY too much

(also <3! B'elanna! i've been watching voyager while i work and she's my favorite )
