Description "No splash, Captain"
"So you want to make a splash, Mr Starkey? I'll give you a splash!"
-Peter Pan 1953
"I've never seen a human this close up before..."
-The Little Mermaid 1989

Happy Late New Year everyone! And to ring in this new year, I decided to revisit an old idea I had rattling in my head for over a year and finally put it to paper.
This is probably the oddest crossover picture I've done so far. I created a scene that combines two small moments from both films.

You can use your imagination on what happens next.

This was done using pen and ink, a white gel pen, a colorkess blender pencil and Arteza colored pencils. It's a new brand I just tried out the first time with this one. Even though they are not as soft and creamy as Prismacolors, they are close to being just as vibrant!

Very interesting crossover scene, you are very imaginative!
What would happen if this is the first human Ariel came across in her ocean life?

You mentioned using Arteza colored pencils which are not as soft and creamy as Prismacolors, but they came out great! You got a very smooth tone and blend here and did a very good job with shading.

Thank you! Im glad you love it! The Arteza's may not be good as Prismacolors, but they are still good pencils!

It's so good to see that there are still artists with a vibrant and expressive "old cartoon" art style!

First of all, I really like that you're able to make an artwork - which is a lot of fun when you think about it - out of two very simple and short movie moments.

This shows that even small and simple things can have an impact on something. Even this artworks has some details which I think are very well done. Like

Ariel dropping the fork because she's seeing something that she didn't expect at all. I love when artists bring details like this one into their artworks. I also

want to tell you that I admire your traditional skills. Everything looks neat - the linearts, the colors and of course, the shading too! Your whole gallery is fun

to look at because the characters you're drawing show stronger emotions which is missing in a lot of other artworks these days. Keep up the fantastic work!

Wow! Thank you very much! Very glad you caught the fork. I wanted that little detail to emphasize Ariels shock at what she's seeing.

The bright colours are gorgeous here and your shading is fantastic. I also love your clean lines with varying weight and how tidy the colouring itself is

Oh, thank you! The drawing process often takes the longest for me, so I'm glad you noticed the weight length in the lines!

Yeah, I have been wondering about what would happen in a crossover such as this (and thanks for drawing one out). Overall, it's pretty well done. Looks clean and polished. I like how the coloring and shading turned out. Same for the line work.

Thanks! Getting coloring on Ariel's hair alone took some time!

I'd probably get this more if I remembered more from the Little Mermaid, but it this humorous XD

The quote from Little Mermaid is what Ariel says after saving Eric from his sinking ship. But I'm glad you still liked it!
