A DmC pro said that if he'd direct the reboot, he'd completely destroy the whole "anime cliche, Dante's ridiculous anime attire, and destroy whatever DMC fans held dear to the originals for my action packed game".
That is exactly why the two universe cannot and should not be combined in any fashion.
