Description
This is how I approach standalone character art for things like adoptables/masterlist designs/etc. on plain, unshaded backgrounds. As always the usual disclaimer: there is no right or wrong way to do this, this is just how *I* do itI will be adding a gradient map tutorial ASAP--hopefully today. Please enjoy and if you have questions feel free to ask!

Slayed me with the 'Draw the rest of the fucking owl' reference. There really is one of those in every tutorial xD
Great insights here, thank you so much for sharing!
looking forward to the gradient mapping tips. ^-^

Great work though, honestly. I always love seeing the process someone goes through. XD

I do too! Even though for every single one I see there's always a "draw the rest of the fucking owl" stage for me lol

Its true though! On the off hand though, I get it. Sometimes things are more from practice than anything you can teach someone to replicate. xD
I find with digital that's especially true. Most of what I get from processes or tutorials is a new layer mode I might not have thought to use, and a feeling of "I need to do more developmental art practice." XD
