To be honest... I didn't even know this character existed until a few years ago. I learned about her while playing Marvel Heroes Online. Loved playing that character ingame, she had a fun move-set.

That makes me feel old.  I've know about her since 1980 when the first comic, Savage She Hulk, came out.  Jennifer has always maintained her intelligence and has come to love being the She Hulk.  In the Sensational She Hulk comic she knew she was in a comic book.

Well... I bet I'm older than you

I read my first super hero comic books as a kid back in the 1960s. Spidey, Hulk, FF, Thor, etc... all that good stuff (also Batman ), but I lost interest in the super hero genre during the late 70s and was more into underground comix and a bit later independent comics (plus all the European comic stuff as well). So I missed out on most of the super hero developments from maybe 1980ish until the first MCU movies rekindled my interest a bit.

That 1970s are called "The Bronze Age" where DC tried to be socially relevant and did things like get Speedy hooked on Speed and take away all of Wonder Woman's powers, make her dress all in white, use kung fu, and have a older blind asian man as a mentor.  The only good character to come out of the era was The Thorn, a heroine with a back up story in Lois Lane Comics who dressed in a skimpy green costume and had a split personality.

Wait, does this mean you didn't watch Lynda Carter as Wonder Woman?

Thing is, in Germany we got it later (sometimes a lot later) than when it was first published in America. What I mean is, the stuff I read in the late 60s early 70s was technically from the early 60s, and so on I don't remember reading any of that Bronze Age stuff.

I don't think WW was ever on German TV, BUT I was able to catch it on BFBS (British Forces Broadcasting Service). Loved it. (Also Bill Bixby/Lou Ferrigno's  Hulk.)

From 1957 through the late 1960s was the Silver Age.  The stories had a lot more Science Fiction elements in them, and the concept of alternate earths was introduced with the crossover between Earth One Flash Barry Allen and Earth Two Flash Jay Garrick.  It was DC's way of updating their characters but keeping the 1930s/40s characters around with an annual meeting of the Justice League/Justice Society.

Marvel retconned Captain America lost at the end of the war and frozen only to be revived 15 years later.  They actually had a Captain America in the 1950s but they explained years later he was an imposture who got the job because they wanted to cover up Steve Rogers' death.

Marvel was always good at covering up their mistakes.
