What is it about photos that involve a dark mass traversing across a brightly pale landscape that resonates with me?

This one caught my attention, and then I read your "description" and just cracked up. I dont know either, but I do like it. I think it just has a dramatic feel.

Very creative. It's even more amazing how you captured such a unique shot: the archetypal silhouettes of birds against the sky, with an even more intriguing edge juxtaposed against those turbulent clouds. Definitely adding this to my favorites

There's a great tonal quality in this image, works with the silhouettes really well. Also, great composition having the tree/bush in the bottom right corner.
