The general idea with that jaw-thing, is that it's not entirely solid. The "fibers" can contract in such a way to make even pursed lips like in B-8, where they cover the major canine teeth,, but it'll of course never be as smooth or soft as human facial muscles.
I imagine if you would grope the face of the human mask-thing (bad idea, dont recommend if you value having fingers) you'd be able to feel all the bumps and edges of the hidden teeth&jaw through that skin layer.
....Now that I think about it, they'd be very unpleasant to kiss,, like smooching tree-bark through.....several layers of skin-textured plastic-wrap???? Boy my comparisons are top notch today arent they

First time I've heard of "akumetsu" but oooh upon checking the wiki, it's written/illustrated by the same two people who did the "wolf guy" manga, which I read a long time ago! A bit moody and melodramatic, but really good serious werewolf stuff from what I can remember, and I'm always a sucker for anything with a pleasing art style.
Would you recommend I give Akumetsu a read?Β
But for the jaw, shape-wise I think there are some traces of Evangelion's main mecha design in there,, simply mixed with the classic designs for Oni masks.

is a bit difficult, because the hisotria follows a certain "style" that maybe you do not like but let's go ...
What I can talk about without being spoiler is that akumetsu is about chou history, an inhabitant of japan that one day tired of seeing people of "high power" as politicians, lawyers and sergeants using and abusing it without being imprisoned, one day he decides to act with the name of "akumetsu" and begins to brutally kill the people he judges as "bad", but in the process he ends up dying, but mysteriously, he reappears to his classmates even after this happened.
The characters (mostly akumetsu kills) are based on real people of Japanese politics, the manga is very brutal but shows a side of how the japan of that time had serious political problems and social, something that many avoided talking at that time.
