Lovely practice for different element textures as well,, would love to improve on getting that water translucency right or whatever-thats-called
((also, if you're curious about that flare-effect, I basically just did some circles at low-opacity and erased softly with a soft brush, just going on gut-feel))

I love Kitsunes,.But as someone who adores Japanese culture it is a little upsetting when I see these images and people are nine tails,Kurama,Kyuby or whatever.Naruto is great,but not all kitsunes is the nine tailed demon fox.Most if not all of original legends were harmless playful spirit like entities who at most would play pranks.,but never hurt anyone.Kitsunes need more love and attention outside of the Naruto fanbase.

I love them greatly and are one of my favorite legends from Japan. I cannot remember the proper word for it but there is one type of kitsune in a legend that is so small it fits in a Tabaco pipe and grants the owner wishes or form of servitude.Almost like a witch's familiar.

You mean how I fill in flat color? :0 I use the tool "magic wand" to select everything outside of the body, "expand" the selected area since otherwise there tends to be a couple pixels-thick of a white line outside of the borders still, and then invert the selection. At that point I can fill in the color that just needs to be a bit cleaned up at the edges.
For the magic wand to work properly, the lineart needs to have a "closed" outline,,Β no gaps. I sometimes have to search quite vigorously to find all of them after I finished the lines

you did great on the background! altough maybe playing around with warmish greenish colors could give off more moods? not sure if this is what you were going for but going from the colors you choose it looks like a cool breezy morning :>Β

I know of those videos!! :> it's more the editing process I go through to get the values and light setting looking nice, during which the colors tend to turn monochrome. I'm still not very experienced with actually being able to pick the right colors at the right hues and shade right off the bat, so I use color adjustments continuously along the process to get it all working together just relying on intuition
