Vividly impressive and magnificent! The color scheme and lighting create a haunting yet beautiful atmosphere...
Your work never ceases to amaze; it's perfect...
Like you said, your dragon/creature/monster looks so smoochable; he needs a kiss for this ritual...

Hello, your art is used here m.vk.com/wall-61437944_43932?f… without your name/credits. Did they ask permission?

Nope! If they did ask, I would've told them that it's ok as long as they mention me somewhere :'I also, checking what kinda stuff they post shows a majority of various artwork, all unsourced, so it looks like it's a common practice for them. Out of curiosity, I looked through the current comments with google translate, and it seems they were discussing exactly on why it's against copyright to repost/not mention the creator :'0
If you have an acoount on that site, I would appreciate it if you could comment with mentioning my username,, but I'm not too bothered by people reposting art in cases like these

I am Vladislava, so yeah, I already do this. But it is soooo difficult in solo, when the majority thinks, that it is normal to steal artworks.

Didn't realize the similarities until now, so nope :0 mostly just went with whatever would look ghastly and ghoulish,, if it were deep-sea creature inspired I probably would've done a bit more with bioluminescent markings and stuff

Whoah..did this really take you aroud 3h? D: That is SOME skill....really beautiful piece and lovely little undead/demon critter that!
Might I ask you, if you don't mind, apart from endless practice and dedication (that one is given), do you have any recommendations to what to watch/read to supplement art growth with? I feel I am in endless circle or repeating same mistakes and not improving, and although it doesn't turn me off drawing (love it more than ever, in fact), I would like to expand a bit more thoroughly. Your progress has been a great inspiration to me!

Oops wall of text incoming :'0
First and foremost I recommend really putting some thought into where you want to go with your art, what goals do you want to reach, what it the best possible result it could have if everything goes right. Then look into what kind of artists seem to have reached that place, and stare at their art; that will give you a clear image, a standard to work yourself up to (but don't compare your current level to that!!!! It should be the things you aspire to do in the -future-,,, thus knowing fully what kind of "look" those things have, will give you a better idea of the areas you could start working on)
You can start doing practice-stuff at any time, but it will only start to be really helpful, if you know why you're doing it, and that it will be essential to have those skills to reach said goal. (just having a vague idea of what the endgame might possibly be, is already better then aimlessly wanting to improve anything and everything on your art)
Example: you discovered that you could picture yourself as a character designer, and would be happy to do that fulltime at some point (or at least have the gut feeling that it would be enjoyable) You look into what kinda artists' styles seem most appealing to you and what you could imagine yourself doing someday (cartoony? Artsy? Realistic? human or animals/creatures?) and then you look into what skill-sets you're lacking (flexibility? detail rendering/textures? unique shape-design? historical culture references? color theory?etc)
You don't even have to do daily practice stuff, but having those kind of questions answered will influence they way you work, the way you go about picking the next thing to draw.
I had that kind of discovery with concept art in general, I started working on getting more comfortable with landscape painting,, doing occasionally things that were still slightly inside my comfortzone,, at least enough to still be fun. I found artists that work in the industry and make really damn cool looking designs and types of creatures that were right up my alley (ex: Anthony Jones) and set that level of rendering skill as one of the many quality standards to look up to.
((I might as well mention, that it's a bit easier to find the drive for self-imrpovement if you want to do art professionally; because not working on your skills could then mean that you won't get into the industry :'I I want to do art as a job, so I can't say wether this mindset will work just as well for personal goals comparitavely))
Enough of the rambling though :'0 here's a playlist: www.youtube.com/playlist?list=…
It's full with videos that have somehow helped me either with motivation, inspiration, technical knowledge, or info on the art industry.
And for any of the more tutorial-esque videos, I recommend checking out the respective channels, because there will certainly be more (Proko, Sycra, Sinix, Ahmed Aldoori) the more you absorb the better c:

First of all, thank you SO MUCH for taking the time to write up such deailed reply! Greatly appreciated!
That is a very interesting approach to the issue. I will defo have to sit down and consider where I want to go. I confess I never considered to do it. Pity only that I do not plan to do art as a job...no game there as a motivational force ): But I do have a set of personal goals I want to achieve. Will have to focus on them more.
Thank you for the link as well! Will defo go through those videos and check the recommended channels as well!
