love the abstract nature of the angel, and its hand on the demon's chest is very nice to look at with how you bent it and displaced the fat of its palms. im all about hands that arent afraid to break the mold.
any tips on drawing chests, by chance? its one bit of anatomy ive neglected to hone in on. probably because i was busy drawing hands.

I think the main thing about chests, is to know: where is the boney surfaces, and where's the cushiony surfaces (and how are these placed ontop of the boney stuff) ((how pillowy the chest is depends absolutely on how buff your character is ANd wether or not he looks more like some roman sculpture / pro body builder,, or some normal fit dude))
I usually visualize pecs for example to be soft cushions connected to the shoulders,, when raised up they get flatter/stretched,, when the arms go forward close together, they get squished. Though I still feel that I'm not yet 100% there with getting their exact physicality right.
here's good stuff concerning chests and whatnot:

And some anatomy videos (no need to absorb every bit of information,, I for example usually just take away very generic stuff or singular details)

thank you for the references. im going through bit of a rough patch after losing my cat yesterday, and i may not get around to using them for a while, but they are certainly appreciated. i hope to accept his death soon and be able to draw again. the reply helped raise my spirits, though, even if only a little.

Great piece! Do you think you could make a tutorial on how you draw/sketch in photoshop? Maybe a YouTube video with some tips you've learned with the software?

Well, I'd immediately have to say that the actual sketching part is the most interchangeable part (=you could do the same stuff with any drawing program, and even on paper) :s it's mostly a matter of getting comfortable with the program so that you can sketch in it as if it's on paper.
The only 'tricks' I've learned to use that might be program-specific would be color/contrast adjustments and after-effects (filters).
But the main advice I can give about learning a program, is to experiment with it.Β If you see features and options you don't understand, try to find out what they are intended for / or try to find how to apply them to your own art (which can be different from what it's intend is)
It's how I've found out about many of the stuff, and in turn, I'm not even sure if I'm using them correctly (or if there's a better way)
There is a lot that I don't use in PS, which might be exactly what other people would find helpful for their art. How I've learned to use different PS tools is by directly experimentally applying it in my process and style,, and I can't really teach people how to use a tool to enhance their specific artwork.
The best I can do, is tell them that those tools exists, but there are far better tutorial videos or software reviews out there that will 1. have the program in English (I only know the German terms for all the stuff I use) and 2. have an up to date version of Photoshop
(I have Elements.10, and boy,, there might be some options and tools that do the same thing,, but they look -completely- different and are sometimes even applied differently)
Sorry for the essay,, but I felt it important to actually put words to why I felt iffy about this, instead of just saying "nah". I could still generally show how I use different tools and roughly translate their names into what they might be called in the English version, but it wouldn't really be "tips" about the program and more just "this exists"
