Description
A fun shot to put together, and this shows off more of her outfit.A note on the shirt. This set had a "modeled on" undershirt, so I knocked that out with opacity and took a body shirt and layered that (smoothing on both layers, top shirt collides with bottom) instead of the original (and useless) undershirt. Now she has a couple fun looks and clothing options, and I can even "say" she has swimwear under there story wise and have it work conceptually.
The whole set is a thrown together conversion with whatever I would come up with. I didn't have any "ledge/cliff" sets like this so I built one and converted/swapped materials. Looks good, works, render and onto next panel. Also the "jungle" back there is a simple green floor with horizon blur turned on. It works. Your mind does the rest. I could do a 3d jungle, or my art director could post one in someone really wants a jungle back there. Right now, it's a jungle. Trust your eyes.

Production Notes: The green light going upwards here is really visible on the underside of the upper ledge. If I left that gray and worked that out in post we wouldn't have a strong yet subtle visual cue of the larger world around her.

Another note, this whole scene came about by me messing around with some of my "vogueing" poses. You know the poses, you see them all the time when someone in a 3d comic is supposed to be standing around in a natural way and what they are doing is posing like they were in a fashion shoot. No one stands around like that! Well, Laura here is, this is a vogueing pose, but one look and I thought, "That looks like she isΒ edging along a cliff!" I built the set around the pose and barely moved her.
A little run of the head and a fashion pose fits in well with an action shot.
