Description My sketches of Destroyah and the three main verisons of him that I know of. Major things I noticed:

Neo by Matt Frank: - Body is much more crustcean like. Similar in form to that of a scorpion.
- Claws are friggen huge now.
- Chest cavity has increased in size with a more circular shape.
- No way in hell he can fly
- Head is comparably smaller to the body than Heisei.
- Overall centuarian build that invokes images of doom and majesty.
- More connectivity to it's eariler forms.
- Eyes are circular and mouth pretty is much a hole with LOTS of teeth.
- Cranial horn is smooth.
-Armor like shoulder plates. Longer spikes.
- Almost completely red.

Heisei by Toho: - Head frill is more elaborate
- Body is very bottom heavy, thick, chunky legs.
- Brow is 'V' shaped.
- Cranial horn is jagged somewhat.
- Chest cavity is moderate with the top piece more detailed than the rest. Flower shaped
- Mouth is more a snout but not much, no lips and LOTS of teeth.
- Arms are puny compared to the rest of it.
- Wings somehow enable it to fly *shakes head*
- Is pretty much a demonic behemoth in terms of build, invokes doom but majesty not so much.
- Tail appears to be shorter than that of Neo.
- Baby-stomper-of-doom feet.
- Face fangs are below eye level.
- Purple and red color scheme.

SD: - Head to body ratio is considerably larger.
- perportions are purposely skewed.
- Equalized body mass in terms of upper and lower body, (save for the head ).
- Head frill is a balance between Neo and Heisei.
- Face like the Neo's
- Huge claws but added thorny bits.
- Four full sized wings, flight possible (by kaiju standards).
- Bidpedal, armored legs but still agile. Much slimmer.
- Red and almost-Black-Red color scheme.

I'll come up with the full SD later on.

Cool, but I like to think Neo Destroyah can fly somehow. In an email, Godzillasamurai said that he'd imagine his Destroyah would fly by tucking his legs in like a dying spider and taking flight.

That would explain how 'Destoroyah' looks while in flight. If you look at the wings though, they are too small to get that gargantuan beast off the ground.

Kaiju physics aside, the wings look more like a threat display than actual limbs meant for flight. Gregole stated in his comment on the deviation itself that the wings were 'bloody puny'and everything else was awesome. Godzillasamurai acknowledged that statement.

They just need to be bigger is all.

I think destroyah can fly either way his wings are, I agree with you on the study but questioning the logic on how he can fly is like asking how hedorah could change forms

The wonderful thing about science fiction is that the wonder is in the 'why' not in so much the 'how'. Kaiju disregard natural law by their nature but their existence in a physical reality means they have to interact with it at least on a basic level that's comprehensible. Destoroyah's problem is that it's wings feel kinda tacked on rather than as natural extensions that should allow it to at least steer and propel itself along. It's second pair doesn't really make up for this. It really just needs more surface area in comparison to the rest of its body to at least look feasible.
