Description Spacegodzilla: Having defeated the one creature that could have annihilated him, Spacegodzilla imprisons the maimed body of Bagan in a prison of crystal. Now satisfied with his work, Spacegodzilla returns to his crystal fortress in the heart of New York City to plan his next move. Unfortunately, his lust for power has alienated even the other mutants and they strive to bring down the tyrant; smashing through the crystal spires in fury. Even the Earth Defenders have joined the effort, a scarred Godzilla 2000 calling for vengeance. Facing the wrath of practically the entire planet, Spacegodzilla’s egotistical pride finally shatters and all he can do is watch in horror as a legion of angry kaiju break into his inner sanctum…unbridled rage rolling off them in waves. Perhaps bringing back the power surges, and thus the possibility of critical mass, wasn’t such a good idea…

Destoroyah: Destoroyah existed for one thing and one thing only…the extinction of all oxygen based life forms. Anything less than total destruction was unacceptable. With Bagan mutilated beyond recognition, Destoroyah devoured what was left of the creature’s energy and continued its mission of eradicating all life on the planet. Cities became mass graves and the remaining kaiju were quickly turned into raw material to feed the ever evolving destroyer. Dr. Shirazawa’s greatest fear had been realized. His creation had given birth to a demon and the world burned in its wake.

Megaguirus: In a world filled with sluggish brutes and armored behemoths, the queen of the meganula found that even millions of years after her kind had supposedly gone extinct, speed and agility reigned supreme. Bagan had been a larger than life and powerful foe…but like all of the ones before him…he only fell harder for it. His energy was VERY tasty, raw and succulent. With all this energy at her disposal, she felt it was finally time to create a nest… Days later, her children blotted out the sun and she cried with joy as they fell upon the weaker life forms of this world. The planet belonged to the meganula and Megaguirus ruled as its undisputed queen.

Titanosaurus: Snapping Bagan’s neck with a final toss, Titanosaurus stood over his broken foe and warbled his victory cry. He was the most powerful kaiju in the world and with that distinction, his ancient life style would continue uninhibited. The oceans were his now and nothing dared enter it without fear of facing his wrath. With trade by sea all but impossible, humanity plummeted into a depression and simply could no longer afford the massive weapons of war that had plagued monster kind. The remaining monsters gave the red colossus wide berth and they never dared to set foot in Australian waters as Titanosaurus claimed the entire continent and surrounding waters as his personal lair. As for the Vortakk…a freak hurricane had mysteriously claimed them when they tried to escape the planet. No one dared venture to the ocean’s bottom to check the wreckage.

Biollante: Devouring the crushed and punctured corpse of her adversary Bagan whole, Biollante was free to do as she wished. With the cities ruined and the aliens humbled, no civilization would halt Biollante’s journey toward the cradle of the world. Setting her roots deep into the soil of Africa’s Savannah, Biollante fired a stream of spores into the sky and the winds carried them to every corner of the world…within a matter of weeks, the spores had turned into massive tangles of plant life that had turned the world into a massive green house. With the world covered in vegetation and flowers, Biollante was no longer alone in the world. The planet had become a massive garden…Biollante its center rose.

Krystalak: Impaling Bagan with enough crystals to make a diamond mine envious, Krystalak had defeated the greatest threat to his supremacy…but there was still one last loose end to tie up. Honing in on the crystal resonance of his creator, Krystalak tracked the wounded but still living Spacegodzilla to the ruins of what was once New York. This mostly flesh bound creature could never hope to harness the purity of their element and it was with sadistic glee that Krystalak fell upon the cerulean titan and tore his crown straight from his skull. Holding the bleeding mass of golden crystal aloft like a trophy, Krystalak brought it to his core and absorbed it. Thrumming with power and a more stable core to control it, Krystalak set out to cover the planet in glowing spires. How quick the slave becomes the master and the master becomes one of the dead.

Obsidius: Obsidius was never a creature that put much thought into anything he did. So killing Bagan took about as much processing as a toaster burning a slice of bread. Tossing Bagan’s broken and charred body away from him, Obsidius was now without a real motive to exist. It would seem that Spacegodzilla had other ideas as he descended down from the heavens. The crystalline menace tried to reach into the elemental’s mind; attempting to gain control over his wayward spawn for his own purposes. Obsidius however, was not the same entity that had spawned from the crystal surge laden magma years before. He had evolved and with that evolution a came a sense of independence. Freedom was a necessity to most living things and Spacegodzilla’s attempted subjugation was met with a blistering roar of rage. Leaping upon his negligent creator, Obsidius’s molten fists pounded the cerulean space demon to a bubbling pulp; leaving Spacegodzilla a shattered smear at the elemental’s feet. Obsidius made to leave but stopped as he felt an unusual sensation pulling at him. Reaching into the ruptured chest of his dead ‘father’, Obsidius retrieved his heart; the mass still beating in his rocky clutches. Feeling an instinctual need, Obsidius devoured the partially crystallized organ and suddenly the world began to make sense. Having stabilized himself, Obsidius now felt complete. Returning to Seattle, Obsidius struck the earth and the city once again erupted into flames as lava flowed freely once more. He had struck at tad too hard however and the entire ring of fire erupted; sending every civilization straight into a molten hell. From Obsidius’s point of view, the world was in desperate need of a change in scenery…a couple volcanoes should do the trick.

Thanks, SG got non too subtle wank from Pipeworks when they did the mutant endings. For a faction that was all about doing your own thing and realizing your monster's own desires (ie smashing every asshole that gets in your way), it's just bad taste for the villain of the last game to just auto win whenever a mutant kaiju wins the game. There were no individual endings really for any of the games BUT what endings they did give should have been fair to the player's choice. The only ending where SG should have won is when the player actually plays SG.

So, in a theoritcal fourth game the trend had to be addressed. As brutally and humorously as possible.

I know exactly what you mean. I would play Unleashed as Destroyah and destroy all the monsters in Tyrant match. All of a sudden I see a still image of the fat space godzilla laughing and I was like hello why is he getting all the credit?

RenDragonClaw In reply to lizarfan1 [2012-07-10 05:19:56 +0000 UTC]

Well see, then that wouldn't have made a very satisfying conclusion for anyone who DIDN'T play Spacegodzilla. The Mutant Faction is made up entirely of self serving kaiju out for power. It's not much of a victory if Spacegodzilla get's everything in the end regardless of who took all the power surges. To get to that point anyway, you have to beat down Spacegodzilla in what would otherwise be the penultimate mission. Those who took all the power surges get a final mission after that which is basically a final battle with YOU as the final boss in a perma-critical mass. So Spacegodzilla has ALREADY gotten his ass kicked by that point for the second time in the game line's story. The previous Mutant endings stuck to canon where any Mutant victory got Spacegodzilla what he wanted. These revised endings give a potential 'player reward' for beating the game with the character THEY CHOSE. All the other factions at least gave the indication that YOUR chosen monsters saved the world. The Mutants all got cuckolded out of theirs and if you've beaten the game with a Mutant Monster, you as the player deserve better than to be forcefed Spacegodzilla's crytal ass hogging your limelight.

But hey, if you're just in it for the rhinestone dinosaur in space I guess that would work out for you lol.

And Godzilla Jr. is leaps and bounds more tolerable than Minya far as I'm concerned.

RenDragonClaw In reply to lizarfan1 [2012-07-11 03:52:25 +0000 UTC]

Krystalak and Obsidius are 'biproducts' of Spacegodzilla's crytal surges and what not. They were created the same time as the crystal crisis in general. With these endings for a feasible 4th game, they would have had time to establish something resembling indepedence and identity beyond what they had initially, cementing their differences. Both being mutants, they would have been entirely self motivated from the get go.

Krystalak is the more intelligent of the two but even Obsidius feels a natural connection with the crystals and their energy, desiring to harness it for himself. Krystalak and Obsidius are more like bastard children after Spacegodzilla's inheritance money than they ever were minions. Spacegodzilla could only be so lucky to force either of them to obey him for any length of time.

RenDragonClaw In reply to lizarfan1 [2012-07-11 22:23:55 +0000 UTC]

They work together in primarily two missions and the description in the last one even lampshades how serious it is when two normally power hungry and selfish monsters actually combine forces. When you build up a Mutant faction rep, it's not out of loyalty or common cause that they don't attack you. It's out of fear/respect for your power. You're establishing a pecking order.

lizarfan1 In reply to RenDragonClaw [2012-07-11 22:45:57 +0000 UTC]

well then when you won with a mutant monster why is Spacegodzilla always roaring in thriump.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RenDragonClaw In reply to lizarfan1 [2012-07-11 23:34:59 +0000 UTC]

Because he's a show stealing shmuck, that's why. Hence the 'correction' for these supposed endings for a feasible 4th game.

If you really want to get technical, the crystal surges were possibly a big elaborate trap set by Spacegodzilla to not only bring him back out of that black hole he got sucked into last game, but also to have a means of potentially infecting and controlling the other monsters. It still doesn't make the cop out of Spacegodzilla's auto-win any better for the player. All the other monsters get credit for aiding their faction at least in spirit. The Mutants suffer a lose-lose situation. If they win Spacegodzilla comes back and takes over the world, completely ignoring how much ass the player kicked. If they lose some other faction get's what they want.

Ultimately Spacegodzilla just up and stealing YOUR victory is bullshit. Considering these endings are for the premise of a 4th game, all Alien and Mutant victorys are non-canonical for the purpose of these endings because an Alien or Mutant Victory would have not allowed the setting to recover for a 4th game.

RenDragonClaw In reply to lizarfan1 [2012-07-12 05:14:50 +0000 UTC]

You don't see most Mortal Kombat characters getting denied their awesome victory ending after beating the shit out everyone now do you? Except Reptile that one time.

You're basically advocating a major villain, getting auto-victory for any successful play through for any villain in the roster. To use Mortal Kombat as an example, it would be like Shao Khan instantly winning regardless whether the likes of Shang Tsun, Quan Chi, Mileena, or any other villainous character makes it to the end and beats him in game. But none of that matters because Shao Khan just magically comes back and trolls them. Even in the often insane and wacky world of Mortal Kombat, that shit would not fly.

Spacegodzilla's auto-victory is a lazy cop out that makes all the Mutant kaiju look like a bunch of idiots. It's a player disservice and in a plausible 4th game, the setting these endings were made for, we could do BETTER. Heck the final boss for this 4th game idea is BAGAN. You don't see HIM suddenly winning after getting dusted now do you? Spacegodzilla had two opportunities to win and for there to be a planet to fight over, he FAILED BOTH OF THEM. It's not his plan any more, he's got to struggle for the prize like everyone else. Just like in any other fighter, the player choice makes what story there is to begin with.

There is not a single good reason why the mutant endings in Unleashed should be repeated. It wasn't much of an ending to begin with and it STILL SUCKED. They way you insist on Spacegodzilla being the villain every other self serving monster must follow and owe their victory to, makes him look like a villain-sue. His ridiculous design and cowardly reliance on energy spam doesn't leave a lot of room for respect so adding one more reason to hate the tiara headed flying blueberry isn't helping his case.

Nice, but why would Space Godzilla lose in his own ending? Plus he's immortal (just like Godzilla) so he would just desolve into his particle form when the other mutants tried to kill him, why do you think blasted him into wormhole instead of just killing him?

RenDragonClaw In reply to hfbdfbvf [2009-07-16 21:16:59 +0000 UTC]

It didn't say he died exactly, it just basically has Space Godzilla facing the consequences of his actions. Having power giving crystals lying around for any kaiju to pick up is a sure fire way to create some rivalry for domination of the planet. He's just reaping what he's sewn is all.

Sorry for getting defensive, I guess I just like the crytaline saurian from space a tad too much. But you're right about Ebirah not being able to cut of a section of Asia and sink it. Then again Maguma probbably couldn't have froze the world on his own, and Deathla probbably couldn't open up a black hole and throw himself in it.

Considering the power the crystals seemed to give the kaiju in the game, its certainly possible for any of those things to happen lol. As for Space Godzilla, silly concept made shit by really bad execution. The guy is a canon Gary Stue in the Godzilla series. There really is no excuse for that shit other than trying to jam as many cliches into it as possible in order for the audience to be attracted to it.

True, and I know this might not sound cool, but maybye Spacegodzilla could use an army of Krystalaks and Obsidius' to beat the other monsters. Then he could trap the faction leaders in his fortress (besides himself of course) and kick the crap out of Godzilla 'til the end of time (since Godzilla is immortal). Just saying, since players wouldn't really expect to lose in their own endings lol.

RenDragonClaw In reply to AT-TE [2009-11-01 18:11:55 +0000 UTC]

Spacegodzilla had a modicum of potential that I feel could have really gone somewhere if he didn't have such blatant Villain-Sue traits hamming it up every step of the way. If I were to seriously sit down and write endings for these things, I'd strongly consider making sure that everyone's ending felt justified. You want to reward the player for winning after all, even if they did play Spacegodzilla. Hell, maybe just because they played Spacegodzilla, he's not exactly the easiest kaiju to win with in unleashed.

Apparently Unleashed answered Biollante's Krystalak's and Obsidius's origins but I reeeeally am not feeling Biollante's 'bio-latte' origins one bit. Crystal radiation on plants and G-cells my ass.

I suppose I could do a series of intros for all the monsters. Probably just the original cast though. The fighting games seem to follow a seperate timeline than the movies so there's plenty of wriggle room.

Every fightning game needs a good character intro too, helps give the player some idea of whats going on besides "theres a tournament, bad guyz are taken over the worldz, they kidnapped my girl friend, I'm gonna be the strongest fighter in the world." Sounds like another good writing excercise.

Mecha-GREGOLE [2009-03-29 18:28:49 +0000 UTC]

MUCH more satisfying. These ones definitely emphasize each mutant's independence, as they should. I like these because they don't come off as depressing or make the mutants out to be evil. As with the others, they're just getting what they want, fuck everyone else. Yeah, Humanity is sortof screwed over anyway, but at least they're not being held down by true malevolence.

I particularly like Megaguirus' ending. Procreating her species always seemed like her original goal. Though to be fair, logically speaking, her species would begin to decline in numbers as the kaiju were brought down, eliminating her prime food source. Then the whole cycle of monster spawning would probably start all over again. As it should!

I especially like Krystalak's. XP Boy aint no subordinate! Double crossing his former master seems like a delightfully in-character moment of sinisterness. Put that stylish beard to use!

All in all, these ones would make it MUCH more fun to play as the mutants.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

RenDragonClaw In reply to Mecha-GREGOLE [2009-03-29 18:55:19 +0000 UTC]

Being that being a mutant put you at odds with the GDF and thus humanity as a whole, they would be the ones to suffer the worst from a mutant victory. Aliens would survive in some cases as their technology allows them more options than humanity. But yeah, civilization is boned . Titanosaurus is perhaps the most merciful of them, as he simple is doing what his species has been doing for millions of years and is more like Godzilla in a lot of ways. I could live with a Titanosaurus ruled world.

Krystalak and Megaguirus were naturals. I have a good feeling for both of them and their goals are easy to pick out and build off of. Obsidius though was a bit of a pickle and I'm not sure I did all that great a job with him. I mean, he's a living volcano. What could he possibly want other than to burn everything? Turn the world into a gaint easy bake oven? I don't know. I just figured that I had to incorperate his connection to Spacegodzilla somehow and go from there.

Speaking of the rinnestone smurfasaurus, I may have gone a tad overboard with his ending. It went from him winning no matter what to him losing no matter what.

The originals weren't all that original as SG won AGAIN for every single one of them except maybe Destoroyah. I know you perfer the super villain deluxe version of Spacegodzilla but really...he's just a tad ridiculess if you really get down to it. I mean, even the name Spacegodzilla. Mechagodzilla we could understand but just smacking 'space' onto Godzilla's name doesn't make a totally new kaiju. It technically creates just a Godzilla that can survive in space with an appearance like Super Godzilla. Who was the basis for Spacegodzilla in the first place.

To be fair, the earlier endings were biased FOR Spacegodzilla to the infinite power. Besides, he still kills Bagan. What more could you want?

I don't Prefer supervillian deluxe SG (Thats reserved for Ghido) my version of SG, is like the joker, he hs no endgoal but blowing shit up along the way, In my FF he only 'Forms' META due to his desire to get his damned form back, using other Kaiju to do it with a common goal: Get YOUR form back and Destroy Humanity. All my monster versions arent Evil "Monsters are Tragic beings. Born to tall. born to heavy. Born to strong. They are not evil by choice. That is their Tragedy" SG is no exception.

I thought Spacegodzilla was the basis for SuperG?

Other way around. I think the game came out before the Spacegodzilla themed movie came out. They wanted to use Super Godzilla's design without actually making Godzilla Super Godzilla so they added crystals and turned it into a villainous kaiju instead. The overall concept was alright but the execution...as with several of Toho's creations was less than it could have been. Of course, this was during the era of the 'everything must spit lasers' design trend. Spacegodzilla was the end result of just too much flash and not enough substance.
