Richard Knox seems to be yet another victim in a string of disappearances that have plagued the English Channel." - Local British NewsSo yeah, this is Tony's Hybrid Form. This kinda illustrates that Mutatis KCELL's are decidely fugly in how they manifest their abilities. What Tony gets in his Hybrid Form is basically amphibious adaption, increased size, durability and phenomenal strength. His sense of smell is heightened and he can begin detecting electromagnetic fields. Slow to get into it but once he does it's mass carnage. They don't find bodies in the English Channel...because he eats them.

You could consider them a mix of antiheros that occasionally stray into antivillain territory from time to time. They do ultimately what is necessary for the planet's continued growth and survival, even if that means knocking humanity down a peg.
As for your idea, shoot. I haven't given it much thought aside from a placeholder kaiju I got in my notes that's related to that event.

Ah right. I do kinda worry where that'll be going, especially with what you have atm, it sounds like it can get really, really ugly in a nihilistic way...
As for the "idea" (not sure if it's more of a guess or not) I'm thinking of a slightly warped version of the Apocalypse happened a long time ago. Before the events of the story (like, dinosaur age), around the time of the meteor entity being defeated, the four Apocalypse Bringers rose in order (Conquest, War, Pestilence, and then Death) and brought about the end of the age of the dinosaurs (hence Apocalypse) and after a long time later Hell followed... By Hell I mean people. My idea for your series is that humans are demons or whatever they were in Hell that somehow came from the same place as the four Bringers after the world "ended" in the dinosaur age. It might possibly give another reason why the Bringers would connect with certain humans.
Of course I'm not giving this theory about our actual world, just that of your own series. So... What do you think? I apologize if I activated Critical Research Failure on my part

Pfft, gotta break a few eggs if you want an omelette. The story doe get to enjoy that omelette so it's not like I'm going grimdark and having it stuck there to languish in angst for a century and then blow up the planet when I'm bored. Not my intention. Unlike a lot of other kaijuverses, in KCELL, humanity adapts and WINS as much as it loses. Ultimately, Shimaku has to figure out for himself where how he views humanity and that's where the KCELLs themselves come in. Bridging that gap between kaiju and man in an attempt to understand each other....hopefully before they obliterate one another.
Oh you are so very very close. Humans thankfully aren't demons...at least in the literal sense. Won't reveal much more than that. It does give me some more ideas. The dinosaurs though died via the Meteor Entity's direct handy work and aftermath. The Bringers did not rise from 'hell' so to speak. Gaia intentionally created them as she needed them. I have a solid timeline for all this prehistoric wigwam up to present times so I have it sorted out, just not keen on showing it just yet.

As for me being very, very close... Humans came from the meteor entity, didn't they? That's about my other guess so if that's wrong then I've got nothing else. But I do see it as an interesting hurdle that'll appear for the bridge between man and kaiju, as just when things were finally about to connect, BOOM, kaiju realize humanity is the spawn/descendant of the thing that nearly annihilated Earth and potentially Gaia; and things get problematic once more.
