haha is it? I dont see that to be much of a problem since i kind of imagine them to have big heads, but feel free to improvise!

hello! even though i see that you don't come on much, might i ask if you know about how many yards of fabric it takes?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to shogibear [2015-07-13 05:15:21 +0000 UTC]

since its rather small Id say just a little over a yard would be fine!

Sorry for this but, I'm trying to make something for a friend kind of like this, I already got the body and stuff down, I just need help with the hair..Do you have any ideas I could use? Sorry if I'm bothering you.

ReniMezi In reply to SomeoneNamedBread [2015-05-18 02:35:31 +0000 UTC]

Sorry Im not all that active on here and I may be late to reply but Its alright!Β

What I used here is multiple strips of felt, the more you put on the more you can kind of mess the hair up and itll stick up more, so basically any sort of fabric that's light in weight could work!

Hope I helped!

For prices sake I used Felt! You can always use different fabric though

i don't understand the head part. sorry

ReniMezi In reply to Hello1196 [2013-12-25 07:00:28 +0000 UTC]

After piecing all five of the pieces of the head together it may look odd at first but once you turn it inside out and stuff it it'll look like a ball! Think of it like a beach ball or something as shown; www.purlbee.com/storage/beachb…

There are multiple tutorials out there that teach you how to do this just google something aong the lines of "how to sew a sphere" and you'll find some results! Hope this helped!

I have a question if you don't mind.Β

How did you make the hair?Β

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to SharonaIsCool [2013-12-15 16:11:55 +0000 UTC]

For the hair I just took rectangular strips of black fabric and sewedΒ  them on piece by piece. Depending how far you sew them on determines the length sort of, which makes the hair look kinda messy!

I'm going to do it! This will be one of my first sewing projects (I'll probably make a "sup" guy beforehand for practice).

ReniMezi In reply to awesomewarsquirell [2013-08-06 21:21:11 +0000 UTC]

Nice!! I dont have a sewing machine so i had to practice handsewing with two pillow cases at first haha; it was easy to get the hang of though!
Good luck!~

I had another question sorry to bother you. How did you close the head of the doll after sewing all the sides together?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-24 22:06:43 +0000 UTC]

Its ok!! Im always up for questions~
Uh If i recall i didnt actually close it up! I faced that side down and attached it to the body so it wasn't visible-

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FireLightPhoenix In reply to ReniMezi [2013-04-24 22:07:36 +0000 UTC]

Okay makes sense. Thank you so much! And how did you attach the parts and head to the body?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-24 22:10:42 +0000 UTC]

Once everything is stuffed, I pretty much just pinned all the parts onto the main body and tucked fabric in while sewing it so it doesnt look as messy i guess you can say! (since there's prob no way to attach them using a machine)

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FireLightPhoenix In reply to ReniMezi [2013-04-24 22:28:22 +0000 UTC]

Okay! Like just tucked all the parts into the body and then sewed? Like that?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-24 23:15:18 +0000 UTC]

well that is one way to do it yes! For me since i was putting the dress on though i just sewed them on afterwards- Im not too sure if you can do that with the head either

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FireLightPhoenix In reply to ReniMezi [2013-04-24 23:18:38 +0000 UTC]

Okay sounds good! Any tips on making the dress? Sorry for all the questions! ;^;

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-24 23:39:46 +0000 UTC]

Its fine!~
asoifjd oh man the dress FF I dont even remember how i made that- I think I wrapped a piece of pink fabric around to measure how it would fit around the next first and kinda like.. marked it with pen, then used the width of the front of the arms to make lil circle holes so the dolls arms can fit in!; sry that doesnt seem to make much sense the dress is kinda confusing so i just guessed PFF

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

FireLightPhoenix In reply to ReniMezi [2013-04-24 23:48:09 +0000 UTC]

No I think that makes good sense xD I think I got the gist of it Thank you so much! Did you put the dress on before or after you sewed the parts to the body?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-24 23:49:15 +0000 UTC]

Glad it does in some way haha;
I put the dress on after I sewed the parts onto the body!

Finally someone who made a pattern for an Ib doll! I have a question though, how do you attach the bottom feet onto the legs? Thanks so much for the pattern!

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to FireLightPhoenix [2013-04-22 03:03:02 +0000 UTC]

Hi There!~ Ill try my best to explain!~
what I did to attach the lil stub feet is pretty easy! You just take the two fabric pieces of the leg,sew only the sides of them then cut out a lil foot fabric and pin the edges of the fabric around the end of the leg piece and sew it up! I must say if i made another ib doll I would maybe fix the legs so they add a little more stubby ness to the doll *nods nods*

Hope this helped! If you need any more questions or is still confused go ahead and ask!

Aaah, I'm sorry to bother you with questions. xD
I'm new to sewing, so how is the head pattern supposed to go? Do you sew the two ends together, or...?

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

ReniMezi In reply to randompurplekitty [2013-04-18 11:43:35 +0000 UTC]

Its alright!~ Ive gotten people asking me this before so youre not the only one!
The head is suppose to end up into a sort of beach-ball looking thing such as these;
[link]
[link]

So yeah you sew one side of the fabric to another side and from that side you add another until you get something sphere like~

Hope that helps!;

randompurplekitty In reply to ReniMezi [2013-04-18 16:45:00 +0000 UTC]

I made it last night! It took me five hours because I'm a beginner when it comes to sewing, I've only made like four things. I made the body out of denim because I had no blue fabric. I also cut a slit in the back and added a zipper, with a key inside of it! I'm probably going to do this again only in white, with the zipper again because this one is inaccurate with the pink, and a green one with the head detached and probably another key inside of it peeking out of the head hole. ^u^ [link]
