Description
It was a quiet summer afternoon at the edge of Kierstal Forest.  There was almost no movement but the breeze rustling the grass where the plains ended and the leaves where the forest began.  If there had been anybeast out, they would have surely enjoyed the scene.

But the peace didn’t last long.

The wolf from the night before stumbled across the plains toward the forest.  He didn’t know where he was going.  The pain was blasting through his skull, eliminating any thought other than the hope that he wouldn’t last much longer or find someone to help.  He made his way into a clearing, at the center of which was a cabin.  He tried to move toward it, but what little strength he had before had left him now and he lost his balance, falling face down into the ground, slowly fading out of consciousness.

Lupus sheathed his knife and closed his pack, slinging the strap over his shoulder.  He was a young wolf, but that didn’t keep him from living on his own.  He supported himself with anything he could grow or forage in the forest.  He closed his eyes, inhaling the forest air with a smile before turning back and starting for home.

It was a short walk and not long before he reached the clearing, behind the cabin.  He started around the side, his gaze quickly moving to the new addition to the scenery.  He set down his pack and cautiously made his way toward the unconscious wolf.  He carefully rolled the beast onto his back, inspecting him for any visible wounds.

“Well…  Can’t just leave you here, can I?” he said, doing his best to pick up the wolf and carry him toward the house, not an easy task.  But it didn’t matter.  It was better to do what he could to help the poor beast than just leave him there.
