I'm a tall dog, a floppy dog, a sweet dog, never alone;I'm a loving dog, a caring dog, a playful dog, never on my own;
I'm a living dog, a thankful dog, a guarding dog, here to stay,
I love to snuggle and play, to love my owners all day.
I'll never be a lone dog, finding shelter as a home,
A cruel dog, a bad dog, fending for my own.
Not for me a sad life, doors shutting in my face,
But a family, food in my bowl, and a warm place.

Aw, thanks. I was so proud of him! He came up with it all on his own. Even changed the format they suggested he do. They gave us a first line to work from and he completely changed it and made the poem his own.

Yes, it is sad. The dog he wrote the poem about is one we got from a pound. They had found her in December roaming the streets.
