Buying character designs isn't exactly a new thing; games and the like pay artists to do character designs for them as well!
From what I've seen, people use them for roleplaying, their own personal stories, and their own personal projects. Some adoptable makers allow their designs to be used commercially while others don't, so depending on where someone buys a design they may find other uses for them.

It was most likely a teenage girl who is now going to brag to her friends about her "kawaii-desu-however-the-hell-you-say-it-ranimu" characters.
Great idea for making easy money though. Hell, I might as well sit down, draw something that's been done a billion times, label it an adoptable, and make a quick buck off of it.
Some sucker out there will be willing to pay whatever God out there knows how much. For the sake of humanity, they're that incapable of coming up with their own characters? Really? HONESTLY?
I know this is going to sound rude to you, but just sit back and look around for a second. There are literally hundreds of designs out there that look practically identical to these. Really all you did was come up with some spiffy clothing.
Most anime has absolutely no stylization to it whatsoever. Only a select few like One Piece, Soul Eater, Bleach, and etc. Give or take a few more exceptions, but the vast majority over there is cloning. It drives me f*cking insane. Of course, many art mediums have that flaw, but it's beyond normalcy for the Japanese comics.
Your skill is without any doubt splendid, but the concept....Forgive me, but I am not partial to it. Maybe try expanding a little? Use the talent to its full extent.

It's weird and stupid; a complete waste of money.
Some kid probably bought it and is now gonna take it to their friends to brag about owning the characters. Hell they might even try to act like they drew them. Heh heh.
The designs....They're average. I swear to a living God of sort that I've seen the exact same thing a million times here and elsewhere. Ugh.

if u think to much about it, almost EVERYTHING has been done already, is hard to be 100% original now days. Either way I tell you again, you should be happy for the artist who is getting paid, as theres so many artist underpricing themself.. and these stuffs take some time to make for sell them 10 dollar the piece (normally) and even if took the person 5 to 10min to make one of these, it sure as hell took years to learn how to do it that fast, an artist hand is worth more then 10..15 dollars. I surely say every1 who is skilled enough at drawing should be getting at the very least above 50 dollars for their works.

Oh I like these designs! It's kinda strange but at first I was reminded of Aqua, Ventus, and Terra from Kingdom Hearts: Birth By Sleep. I guess it's just if I imagine them all in a group they'd be just like the KH trio XD
