Fan art of Brainiac 5 and Superman for Clark and Brainy's May... celebration... thing.Just like how snow melts into spring, hate and anger from a dispute melt into forgiveness as you're willing to move on and step into the next season. The theme was spring, but this somehow came out as half-winter.
While painting this, I learned the painful difference between a transparent black that appears gray and a gray that is not transparent but looks the exact same in a black and white sketch. Whoops.

I had my original idea for the background--a spring setting where spring grew out from Superman's cape, but it looked weird and gave me a hard time pulling it off. I dropped it for a while and worked on my thumbnail sketch for the crossover, and and my friend game me the idea of making the cape become a stream melting into spring. The trees in the background were initially bare because I was too lazy to draw leaves, and then I was like "Hm.... winter?" And things went on from there.
