There's going to be a spoiler of sorts now, so stop reading if you desire.
So, Garrus' writer said that for ME3, Garrus was going to be a mix between Mercutio and Wash from Firefly. I just watched the first episode of Firefly and when this happened between Zoe and Wash, I felt that it was something my Shep would do. Especially if Garrus pulled off something awesome.
