Your work reminds me more of Nenets than of Native Americans though. It always seems to have a touch of Aurora Borealis in it. And of course both groups are closely related. Do you know the Are You Experienced version from the "The Jimi Hendrix Concerts" album? (not on YT because of (C)) It has Amanita Muscaria written all over it. That's what your drawings always remind me of

I see a lot of similarities in culture and religion between the Native Americans and indigenous people of Russia, some of their rituals and beliefs are very close to each other. There is also a theory of migration some of Siberian people to the American continent in the distant past, perhaps it makes sense. Almost all of my works are dedicated to "Unnamed nation", they are not connected to a particular location. Amanita is a very beautiful thing,  I saw a lot of these mushrooms in Taiga during my trip to the North in the end of august. Who knows maybe they are really good for inspiration

From what I've read, the safest way to use them is to buy a reindeer and feed it the mushrooms first, then wait for it to pee and drink the urine. But think twice before buying a reindeer, because they are a migratory species and require a lot of maintenance in terms of traveling the land after them

I think I've heard this method. In those places there are no problems with the reindeer. In the old days, shamans and witches knew how to use these mushrooms for their rituals and trips.  All of these methods are available in books, but this is a very risky for amateurs anyway

This summer I visited the Komi Republic, it is a very beautiful place. Northern nature  is really majestic and beautiful in these places. Also, I got interested in the culture of Finno-Ugric Peoples.
Beavers did not live in this region, it's too cold for them

It does look very impressive, definitely the place to be, during summer at least. I already knew you have a connection with that part of Russia, the Northeast, it's all over your artwork. Maybe you have a few distant Komi/Nenets genes? I feel somehow connected with the Southern Russia/Kazakhstan myself, I have no idea why. Maybe because of the fresh air coming from the Himalayas. Most here in W-Eu don't even know what Finno-Ugric means, or that there were people living in Siberia before it became a part of Russia, I didn't know myself until a few years ago. Too bad for the beavers, no wild pigs either I suppose. I tend to feel at my calmest right next to the ocean and in places where there are wild pigs. The pigs and I must have something in common

I like this area, it is very unusual place, I see many differences from other regions of country in Komi, although Russia is a very multinational country. In the past, there were many prisons for political prisoners who worked in taiga and built the railroad. This is a very harsh and beautiful land. Finno - Ugric peoples have their own language, it has some similarities with the Finnish but they do not understand each other.

I hardly have the genes of those people (but who knows), The ancestors of the maternal line came from Ukraine, they moved to Russia during tsarist times. In the same time I have little information about  ancestors on the paternal line.  It's quite interesting, you feel a connection with the south of Russia and Kazakhstan, I live near these  places

I saw on your profile page that your profile page that you get a remarkable lot of visits from around the Оренбургское казачье войско (I've been reading about the peasant revolts lately), is that where you live? Also, according to the map, your main fanbase appears to be locate in Germany, The Netherlands and the UK. So if you ever decide to follow in the footsteps of поросенок Петр, you know where to go. I have so far completely skipped the USSR and its grim tales from Siberia. After I finish the peasant revolts I think I'm going to study the Romanov family tree first, especially the first generations, with two tsars both having had two different wives, whose families quite literally hate each other to death, and are constantly trying to push their offspring onto the throne. I've read about it before but I want to plant the whole story more firmly into my mind, with all the advisers involved and the old school / new school religious theme in the background. It really is immensely complex for someone who's new to it all. But it's a very interesting and moving history, in many cases moving because the subject in question never wanted to become tsar out of fear for being murdered, and then they were  made tsar against their will after all, and guess what, they were murdered. I really felt sorry for some of them while reading their story. Being born into a royal family definitely wasn't necessarily an enviable thing!

ha ha Mentions of поросенка Петра (Peter pig) made me laugh. He is a very popular character in runet, especially all that relates to russian liberalism. Besides that, he has a magical tractor

Yes, the Orenburg Cossack movement has a very long history, it is a very notable thing here. If you read about the rebellion of Pugachev, it all happened here in the region where I live. Pushkin wrote a book, "The Captain's Daughter" dedicated to these events. This  books is included in the school curriculum. Although, I think  the story is little known  in other countries.

"Grim tales from Siberia"  if you mean the Stalinist repressions and everything connected with it. Other tales and legends are pretty very interesting, especially mythology of minor indigenous peoples. I think you'll like the story of the Romanov family, all of these ancestral ties are very intertwined, I've seen their family tree, it is impressive.

Here they are, all of them: www.stsx.org/voxhunden/rus/rus… . Pfheww!!! Haha, those Cossacks, reading about them did take away some of the myth. Not only did they lose as many wars as they won and they were they fighting each other most of the time, but they really seem to have been only effective under the tough guidance of the Russian army leadership. They remind me of the ancient Celts - my ancestors! - who were brave and death-defying warriors and did manage to strike fear into the Romans, but who ultimately were no match for them because they lacked two key ingredients: organization and discipline. Hmm, come to think of it, perhaps that kind of describes my own personality as well I found this one a while ago too kfss.ru , really cool There's something distinctly "tribal" about many of those objects, some look as if they were left by some civilization thousands of years ago. An entirely different era. I did read Pugachev's story on wikipedia btw. If I tend to call things complex, it's because of that: wikipedia is a great source of information, but horrible study material, way too many details and at times very poorly structured as well.

Thank you for the links. I like the early period in the history of Russia. Including the Time of Troubles. It's a pretty exciting time period in my opinion. If you have not seen the movie "Tsar" by Pavel Lungin, I recommend you. Some of scenes are really interesting and describe well the atmosphere of that time. Ivan the Terrible was a very controversial figure in the history of this country.

As for the Cossacks, they were really very strong army during the Russian Empire, brave men with their own traditions. Currently, they are very different from their ancestors. Well, I think you understand  what I mean

Are you interested in the forefront of contemporary music? I've searched YT far and wide for years for interesting stuff from Russia for years, but I only found nothing but utter copycat garbage, like copy-hiphop and copy-metal. People doing the same thing that has been done a million times before, and better. But now I feel I've finally found an entry into the good stuff! The music here is probably full of obscenities and some of the band names and titles seem extremely politically incorrect, but at least it's well off the beaten track: jw-records.bandcamp.com/album/… . I've found other interesting stuff as well, but all that is certified rude and obscene, because I've been searching by rude and obscene keywords, hoping to tap into the more subversive underground of Russian music. A lot of it sounds extremely amateuristic, but it's full of drive and enthusiasm. Most of the artists seem to be in the 17-19 years age group. It does seem something very interesting is happening in Russia, and I'm sure it's only  a matter of time before these bands will mature and the thing will gain momentum and turn into something of a musical current in its own right.

(oh well, here's one just as an example: myzuka.me/Song/7958535/Svinaya… ) (And yes, I do think that that is really good music!)

I do not know this genre and artists very well, it's a real underground But in Russia is really a favorable climate for similar stuff. Sometimes it's just youthful maximalism, but there are interesting things with meaning that contain social messages and ideas of protest. Some texts and music had a great influence on people at certain times. It was in the 80's, 90's, I think now is also a good time for this because despite the strict censorship, any arist can share music in the internet. In my opinion the main problem in the overabundance of information, it is very difficult to find something worthwhile in the internet because of the garbage.

I'm well aware of the loads of garbage, that's why I feel like I've struck gold! Some of the bands on that record label are really very good, like this one for example: www.youtube.com/watch?v=GkN550… . It reminds me a lot of the American college rock and British "indie" labels from the 1980s, which hosted a similar mix of provocation, politics and at times pure genius. And yes of course, nothing stimulates the adolescent creativity more than censorship does

The creature with gun ( human?) is located in a fire flame. I suppose it appeared in a moment. When it ( he ? ) appears in front of the monster it is not alone, some other cretaureds accompanies with it. So the monster can be powerful but the nature contains many other creatures so, they come together to fight with the monster....That what I see from your excellent composition.
And that submission is not located exactly on earth. One can not decide if they are fighting in the sky or not. I always adore the way you compose your characters. Thanks for sharing your art with us once again

Thank you for such an interesting comment, my friend, I like your interpretation, you have described very well the meaning of this work. The beast is very strong, but the warrior (the spirit or the man, does not matter) gets help from higher beings, in the end they will win of course

The eye on the monster is so beautifully done. It feels alive. The warrior reminds me of the Hunter in Native American lore. Love the bird flying above the hunter & how the spirits of the ancestors  are helping keep the animal at bay. The yellow & orange-red background is powerful. Your work is deep with symbolism.

I thought about the colors when I made a sketch for this painting during my trip. In my first version, the background should be black or purple with stars, but later I changed it to red and yellow, because they are more intense  for this concept. The main idea of this painting is a struggle between the lower and upper worlds,  literally and figuratively of course. Perhaps I included myself into this picture
