Description
I modelled this UAV console based on the killstreak award from Modern Warfare 2.I did this a while ago but only just got around to rendering an image.
Hope you like.
Any crit or advice is very welcome. Thanks
P.S. This is an edited version of the originally uploaded render based on comments from other people.
The corner guards were smoothed, bump map increased and an antenna was added.
Thanks.

Thank you very much for the critique. I am happy you like it
The touchpad/mouse is on the right hand side (I forgot to include right and left clickers)
Also your point on the GUI is a very good suggestion. I will try and come up with something and post another image one day.

No prob
Yeah, i wasn't sure where the L&R mouse buttons were, and I was like "Wut?"
And yeah, I thought a GUI would be cool.

Be in the middle of a Fight/guerrila/war.
Open a laptop that spawns a magic misile.
Realism achieved.

I just find it funny that you are in the middle of something and decide to be in the laptop that you suddenly have in your pocket.
It's not funnier than you having a band waiting for you to achieve something and play music when you do.
I'm sure they're also responsible for the akimbo reloads and really most other reloads. You just take out the old cartidrage, extend your hand and suddenly have a new one in the way back? It's obviosly the rock band that is behind you.

LMAO
I would love to see an animation of that done within the game engine LOL

They're in the engine, but invisible and invincible. I mean, there has to be an explanation to those weird reloads.

that is a huge step on the updates ! everything looks really nice . now animate it ! are you able to mix gradients with your materials ?

I am not sure what gradients are. Are they like layers??

it's just a fade from black to white (or any color to any color) . in C4D you can add gradients to materials to shade them . it add nice natural looking shadows .
i've realized while looking at this , between this and the original post , that adding a background image really does so much for the piece . ("piece" being the artwork , not pie) . where do you get your background images ?

There is a gradient bump in poser but i never knew what it did. I will look into it see what I can find out.
I usually use my own photos for background images. I just find one with the kind of environment or colours I need and blur it. This one was taken recently at a old Nuclear Bunker. They have it set up as a museum with some awesome Military stuff.

Very nice in order to give a crit... i must say... is so straight., the coplanarity in some poits are so hard mustly on the rubber gum on the corners, black ones, ... reallity mustly straight lines are tinny curves.. curvy (does exist that word?)... i usually try to curv them a little to change persepsion of perfection.

it's great to see you making a model . sure you made it "a while ago" but it's still good to see it happen crit ? the materials look good too but the one with the camo could possibly use some type of texture on the surface and a gradient to shade the edges . a reflection on the upper screen and on the plastic bits may look good. your modeling is spot on . wouldn't change anything there

Thank you
I have LOADS of models but I am never happy with the renders.
All of your suggestions are good ones I will try and make it happen. For some reason I find it very hard to make good hard surface materials look "right".

Thanks for the input, I do have a bump map on it but I am having trouble getting it to look correct. It is either too much or too little
