The doctor took the confidentiality of his clients seriously. Victoria had never met a more serious man. Always so stern, always so proper and commanding. He insisted his clients records were never entered on computer. Never emailed, never faxed, never even photocopied. If an insurance company required a copy it was Victorias job to type out a copy and arrange for it to messengered over, or increasingly hand delivered across town to their offices. On other hand it meant there was always more paperwork needing to be done. She hadn't wanted to have her whole career as some paper pushing secretary in some very old fashioned office.
She shifted in her seat. She was still getting used to wearing a girdle but she had to admit it did wondeful things for her figure. She'd started to wear them weekends and not just during weekdays at work. Her boss called himself a career councillor and he always seemed to have a bevy of young professional women queuing patiently to see him every day at the Stepford Career Bureau. They'd see him once a week for 2-3 months and then stop. Then a month or 2 later without fail a profuse thank you note would arrive from the client gushing about how they'd found their dream job. The doctor would have Victoria type up a copy to be added to their files whilest the originals would be added to the already packed notice board filled with the letters of other very happy contented customers. New clients seem to be encouraged while they waited to see so many new glowing testimonials about the career guidance councillor someone had arranged for them.
He certainly had a lasting impact on them. Many would arrive to their first session in jeans and hoodies. But after a few weeks he'd have them dressing like the pretty demure young women they were in outtfits that would make them very memorable at every interview.
Victoria looked down at her outfit. Six months she wouldn't be seen dead dressed like this... But now it just felt right... At the start of every day he would call her in and give her instructions of what needed to be done that day. She'd sit there with a paper notepad in hand taking down his instructions for what seemed forever. It felt like most days she nodded off for a few moments but she'd find she'd taken down all his instructions and left nothing out. He'd always point out the smallest error, like yesterday when one of her seams was crooked. Thank goodness he'd slapped her backside and pointed it out to her. She could be such a ditz these days. Vapid Vicki he'd taken to calling her. Thankfully the good doc didn't mind if she checked her hair and makeup constantly during the day. She was putting forward a good professional image for the service. The doctor wondered what he would do when she ran off and got married like all his previous secretaries. Vicky swore she'd never leave him like that but the more he said it the more she fantasised about doing just that. A nice young man who'd tell her what to do her whole life.
