I realized I never posted this piece. It's fan art of the city Cosmopolis from the movie Speed Racer. Original concept art was done by George Hull (scroll down for the city scene). This is my ZX Spectrum rendition, based on a movie still.
I started making it in 2008 and finally finished it last year at GDC. It was a very on/off thing with around 100 hours total to finish it. When I saw the trailer for the movie I was immediately struck that this should totally be a ZX Spectrum scene. So yeah, that's how this happened.

I mean the film. I didn't think it was that bad, definitely not the worst. It depends what you're watching it for. I enjoyed it.

First saw it in the thumbnail and throught this looks photorealistic. Then zoomed in I see it´s pixels. The colors are great. I love that style!
