The sky was red with fire and black with smoke as the Cluster forces pushed their advance upon the city. Jenny stared at the sight, slack-jawed, for the moment or two she could spare before a look of determination spread across her face. Against a force this big, there was only one way to beat them.

In her open palm, she held it. A Pip crystal. One of the most dangerous artifacts in the known universe. The last time she’d seen one was in the clutches of the Krust cousins, at the closest they had come to defeating her. The crystals were known for their great power, and feared for their ability to drive the weak-willed mad with power.

Jenny wasn't weak. She couldn't risk being weak at a time like this.

Her fingers clasped the azure jewel as she drew it close to her heart, a small panel opening up in her chest to allow it inside. The surge of energy that came with its arrival was enough to send her to her knees. She closed her eyes tight and began to concentrate.

Slowly, she began to lift off of the ground without help from her thrusters, the crystal’s malicious power at last harnessed by a force of good. One word was all that she knew, and it was all that she needed, and all that humanity needed.

Rise.

This project was rather spur-of-the-moment; I’d just seen someone post about fandoms “rising”, and it seemed like something that would fit the show beautifully. I couldn't think of a proper image from the original series to represent that, so I decided to make my own.

It’s been several years since I last attempted an animation, but this is one of those rare projects I look at and think to myself, “How did I do that?” The story added here was only written after the fact, in my effort to come up with a situation where such a pose would be necessary. (“Dressed to Kill” also happens to be one of my favorite episodes, though I do wish Jenny had gotten her hands on those crystals at some point. Would their mind-control powers have any effect on her, or would she simply become a nigh-omnipotent being?)
