I sent a doodle to XJ-0 recently, but I was disappointed in it and told him I'd be making something a bit better looking for his OC. Here it is!I'm not normally one for OCs, particularly Jenny-derivatives, but Zero's been one of the major members of this community since its beginning and his art is pretty awesome. I love this design!

A lot of practice and reference, both for the show and just for the style in general. Going to New York certainly helped me, though, with all the beautiful architecture there; Rockefeller Center was one of my favorites to see, particularly for this piece. www.splendidhabitat.com/wp-con…

Zero gets a lot of influence from Mega Man (hence the name), so I figured that would be something worth putting in.

Well, my OC started out as a Megaman derivative, though I've been trying to get him away from that, in favor of the Superman-archtype, in line with the show's retro style.
Still, the gesture is much appreciated.

I can't speak for Zero's character, but I definitely agree with you. In the case of this picture, it's not that she is weaker than he is, but that whatever situation she's in couldn't be handled alone.

Rule #1 of fan characters: never outshine the star.
Zero rarely, if ever, interacts with Jenny. I prefer his interactions with other fan characters.
But really, no hero is above needing saving, much like most of us.

Like my Kirimaty Universe (My own, main universe), or PPGX Universe, or Teenage Robot J universe.
