Description Using his connections at the Justice League, Flash had Batman design him and Kid Flash some very strong protective hazmat suits. However Flash didn’t remember how disruptive he was during Bruce’s respirator face fit testing at the JL Watch Tower. But Bruce remembered the way he laughed when he recoiled under the mask and the hood after being sprayed with the bitter formula. So Bruce made sure to include a specific design feature in the hazmat suits for Flash and his sidekick. When faced with an unidentifiable or potentially hazardous substance (in this case, some kind of sticky radioactive gloop, which appears to have the two stuck in place) the thick rubber suits would inflate as some form of extra protection, also immobilising the wearer. As another form of protection, the heavy duty voice diaphragms inside the masks are switched off to the outside world. The masked Flash and Kid Flash can still communicate with each other, and anyone else on the wavelength of the inner communicator, but the outside world can only hear very heavy breathing, and quiet muffling any time they speak. They can just see the masks move a little anytime the heroes speak. Bruce also included a secondary protective function anytime they’re attacked directly, which causes the suits to inflate further and swallow the two heroes whole, but luckily for them it hasn’t come into effect yet.
