The night was long for Cyan Swan, Scarlet and Luna, who were teaming up all night to "clean" up The City from some out-of-control monstrous specimens. Before they go out separate ways, the superheroines decided to grab some breakfast first. And so, they visit an nice looking diner near there.

When their coffee and donuts arrived, an elderly woman also approached them.

"Good morning, ladies," said her.

"Good morning, ma'am," said Cyan Swan with warm smile. "Is there anything we can help you?"

"Oh, what a polite girl, you are," said the nice grandma. "No, dear, I'm here to say thanks all three of you...."

"You're welcome, but.... I don't think we have done anything, ma'am?" said Luna.

The nice grandma chuckled. "What are you talking about, sweety. Do you really think nobody see what you've done for us, not only last night but all year long?"

"Screwing up and destroying public properties?" said Scarlet in a deadpan manner, which made Cyan Swan glared at her for being rude.

The grandma chuckled again. "For helping and giving us hope, dear," said her. "I've been living in The City for all my life, watching all the horrible things that happen all around us, some helpless civilians we are...."

"... we aren't always success, though...." said Scarlet.

"But you keep trying to, which is already more than what everybody else done," said the grandma.

"We are just doing our job," said Luna, "you shouldn't-"

"Oh, but it's not actually any of your job, right?" interrupt the grandma. "With all the powers you have, you can be anything! But you come to help us, the people, without even waiting to be asked!"

Another waitress came, and give a box of donuts to the grandma, which then said, "The diner would like to give you this. It's on the house!"

"Oh, that's so kind!" said Cyan Swan. "You shouldn't have!"

"Oh, dear. It's the least I can do!" said the nice grandma. "Please, eat up while they're still warm! Don't worry, it's not a trick!"

The nice grandma gave a warm smile before leaving the three superheroines to enjoy the treats. "Happy Heroine Appreciation Day, ladies!"

Heroine Appreciation Day is an annual event held by , where we give our sincere appreciation to the superheroines who risk their life and often freedoms, to protect the people!

This year isn't as flashy as the first time I submitted, or as sweet as last year . But well.... free donuts is free donuts
