Description
This is fan art of Neil Gaiman's Morpheus, but it's also personal because all the imagery is from dreams I've had that felt very significant and have stayed with me. I'm not completely sure the composition came out ideal, but I'm still pretty happy with it.Watercolor pencil

He's messing with me. I'm craving that new Sandman prequel and I hope at least the first book comes out soon.

I am so far behind on comics... three years of unemployment rendered me unable to buy them, but now that I have a full time job I should maybe try to start catching up again...

Thank you! I keep meaning to do more artwork from my dreams, because I have such fascinating ones. I keep a dream journal, at least.

The result is worth it. I keep coming back to this piece to look at it. The way you did the eyes--shows where the mind truely is. Eyes are a reflection of the soul, but his soul is lost in the dream.

Thanks! I think drawing on my own real dreams helped a lot.

I think I've gotten at least two RP characters out of dreams...

That's rather interesting, actually. I've had some hints to my own ones from dreams. I have also found some solutions to my problems in real life from dreams.

I'm not sure I've ever found solutions in dreams... they seem to fall into two categories; the long complicated faery-tale kind, and the kind that reiterate some kind of stress in my waking life that I'm already aware of.

I think it's about seeing the right things in your dreams, perhaps. Of course it depends a lot on the subject and person.

I've heard about actively controlling your dreams, and I have a friend who's interested in that, but I usually find it's more interesting to just see where they'll take me. I always know I'm dreaming, and I can always make myself wake up, if it's a nightmare or something, but I can't always guide what happens...

Yeah, I sometimes see dreams which I can control (I can only control them if I really realize it's a dream AND that because it's a dream and happening in my mind I can control it), and when I do, I always want to try all the weird stuff I just can. xD Usually I try to get them done fast because I often wake up very fast after dreams like that.

I love those dreams- the ones that stick with you I mean. Lovely work!

I keep a detailed dream journal, because the ones that do stick with me are usually long and have some comprehensible plot.

And not only do you write a damned, good fan-fiction - your getting good with the pencils..

Aw, thanks. These are watercolor pencils, not ordinary pencils. They kind of take longer, and for a while I swore off them for that reason, but the results are worth it.

Surrealistic and wonderful. I haven't read that particular Neil Gaiman book, but seeing this make me want to.
I don't think it's ever come across in my comments how much I love your style of drawing. It's very personal and you manage to find subjects that suits it. Very nice.

It was actually a whole series of comics, called The Sandman, and then there were some spinoffs... I highly recommend it all!
Thanks! I worry that I jump around a lot stylistically, but I guess that's a strength as well as a weakness? This is definitely one of my more personal pieces.
