Description
An Entry for Contest.I have been working on this Shuttle/Dropship design, on n off, for a while now. So when Sambo78888 mentioned a need in contest for a Super Hero Team Transport, I thought this baby would fit the bill nicely. Well, I HOPE it fits nicely
This is a Preliminary, I am waiting for some input from Sambo on the actual color scheme and a Symbol to slap on her.
You Can't really see them well in this view, but there are 5 Dropshoot Doors on the port n starboard sides of the fuselage. With doors on top n bottom, for fast drops into any hostile LZ. Also a large airlock door in the rear and extendable gangway.
Anyway, Hope you all enjoy her.

I'm liking where this is going. I really dig the twin front "fairings," almost like a "futuristic-classic" car or motorcycle, and the center section has a nice aggressiveness. It also builds on and modifies a lot of the common "dropship" themes that we see lately.

I was going for a racing horse sort o look from the fairings. coulda been a racing dog though, from the end product.
Damn, I was hoping to move far from the common with this design, guess I can't rid my subconscious of the basic preconceptions inherant in the concept.
OOooo, Just got a flash of an "Estcherist" sort of crossed dumbell design, with a drop pod in the belly.....
Siiigh, needs to be organic looking to work well, and I am pretty weak there...
Probly been done already anyway
Sadly, We (thee, Me and our co-designers)need to get awfully radical and often just bizaar to hit on anything approaching a NEW concept today.
We are victims of our times it seems.
That being said, I think I will be happy you liked it, and just accept that I can produce something not TOTALLY like something that has been done already
Thanks Mucho for the excellent comments my friend, great new things YOUR doing lately BTW. Never stop!!"excited:

I think it's hard to get away from the "jet powered Huey-esque thing" when it comes to dropships, because it just works so well.
I don't know how much more bizarre we can get before things become totally unbelievable (remember my "Mantis" design?), so some familiarity isn't all that bad.
I think you should go for your "crossed dumbell with a drop pod" idea. I'd like to see what you do with it.

Personally, I think the Osprey is a better design influence for Sci-fi dropships. But it IS the grandchild of the Huey. So your likely right there.
I like all my designs to be believable, comes from a lack of pure creativity unfortunately. So I am not likely to produce a totally new and cool design concept (Dammit!)
But the Dumbell idea is looking cool, from a practical perspective (you'll have to wait n see that one) But I doubt my Program can produce what my Pen has come up with thus far....
Siiiigh

Actually, I think all the best designs have a "something new, something proved" mix, so don't despair.

Dad told me about this design he's right, shes a stunner. Team Vix would look great shooting their way into the team loading dock instead of rattling in in that useless German dropship. Its an oversight on my part that I'm not watching you an oversight I might add that I'll remedy now.

S'Okay if you weren't watching me already Brix (sorry, you KNOW how we americans love nicknames). I had so little time to do any art or browsing that I might as well still be absent...
Luckily for me, I been watchin You. So I get to see your lovely ships and drool profusely
Eventually, I hope to get people round here (Reno)to leave me the heck alone long enough to catch up on my commenting and Faving too.
As your Dad can tell you, I do rediculessly verbos and rambling/foolish comments. It's my only decent fun lately and I am in serious withdrawls
Ask your Dad if he wants me to convert this one to .DXF for him to play with. I know he hates the excessive parts n Polycounts I always end up with. But he always does pretty wonderful scenes with my amature models once he fixes em. In this case, I am not overly attached to this one. So he can do as he pleases with it.
Many thanks for the kind words my friend. And the Favertating

Well cool, our UT team have a meet coming u in a month or so, it would make a great opening day animation to have that instead of our aging dropship land at the tourny.

OK, I'll get crakin on building the beast....
Gonna need Tons of Titanium, gold alloys fer the wiring, a few high-tech thruster thingies, some nice corinthian leather fer the interiors n seats....
OH! and an industrial sized coffee maker
Happy you liked her Karanua. I was pretty happy I actually managed (I think) to come up with a design that looked workable, but was fairly unique.

platinum wirings the best, ditch the titanium and use bonded superdense. [imagine alligned crystalline steel thats bonded with a diamond shell under dwarf star gravity and you pretty much have the concept]

But wouldn't Bonded Superdense (I hearbye name it "Collapsium") be a Weeeee bit super heavy?
If I use it, I'll have to install some inertial dampers and anti-grav.... Frak, Can I DO that for under 29.99???

Its made in an artificial gravity field, unlike collapsium which is actually hybridized neutronium (VERY HEAVY) its pretty light.
