Description This guy has an armature made of wire, foil, wood, autoclave tape and INNER TURMOIL.

All in all, he took me around 15 hours to make. He is 8.25" tall and 11.5" long. He's freestanding and very sturdy.

Loosely based on Red Kangaroo Redux pencil drawing.

Very loosely.

Made with Premo clay, a next generation version of sculpey III...

Haha, I love the expressive nature of it's face. Kangaroos have a tendancy to look rather angy or aloof most of the time as it is, but this makes it feel altogether more irritated than a more realistic medium.

Very cute, and well done!

If he could talk, I'm pretty sure we'd get a few ebonic-laden sentences out of him, verdad? He looks like he's "ghetto" and "with-it." Or just pissed, maybe? How about "stuck in Dan-Ryan traffic on a hot, Indiana summer's day?" Whatever the motive, your mastery of the art of making lamenting 'roos out of expensive Pla-Do has impressed me more than if Dali suddenly lept into Interpretive Dance, amidst burning his oils and canvases. Think of the children; the macabre-craving children!!

Wow! I am very, very impressed. I had no idea that you could sculpt THIS well. This looks professional, like it came from a claymation movie. What I think I like best about him is that he keeps your style. A lot of sculpey sculptures sorta lose the artist's style in favor of realism, which is understandable considering the fact that it's 3-D, but this looks like it hopped right out of your drawing.

Hey Rachel! It's been awhile....it seems everytime we chat I start off with and apology for not commenting as often as I would like.lol. Actually I have been doing that with alot of people lately.

This fella is very well done. I love his expressive face, he looks peturbed by something. Not angry but troubled.....mmmm. I love his big ol' nose and just the way his face is shaped. It's like a roman nose, the shape and bend I mean. Have you thought of applying some type of varnish to the eyes to give it a moist and reflective appearance? I don't know...his eyes do seem a tad dull to me.

I like the way you have shaped his shoulders and chest and his round belly (pssst...do male kangaroos have pouches?? )
The muscles are clearly visible in his shoulders (he also pack a mean set of biceps ) and their posture looks great, almost agressive in a way. Perhaps he's getting ready to box someone? lol

I do have one other question about his lower arms and legs. They look jointed, I can visibly see a separtion...do they move? That would be very cool! So when and where can I buy one of these?!

Keep up the imaginitive and always excellent work!
