Description
Fwaaaa, finallyI had this idea of making Conker as a Littlest Pet Shop critter for quite a time now and now I finally managed to do it!!!1
I love how he came out. Used a beaver as a base. I cut off the beaver tail and sculpted a more squirrely tail of FIMO clay. Oh, and I edited his feet to make them look like real feetsies without webbed stuff, like a duck. Conker is not a duck.
Why did I make him from a beaver, and not from a more logical, squirrel? Because the beaver mold looked more like Conker anatomy-wise than that squirrel mold (which are actually skunks in denial...) so I just... made him from a beaver lolz
So yeah, this ain't my first custom, but it is the first in which I actually put a lot of time.
Yeah, he has no shoes. Sorry. That would've been too hard for me. Also his eyes are unedited because they were blue already yay.
He's really cute and not sticky like my previous attempts at customizing LPSs and I love him fffff <3
Conker (C) Rareware
Littlest Pet Shop (C) Hasbro
this custom (C) Me!!!1
I also made Kazooie once but it was just a red and yellow bird
I might make a new Kazooie of the ostrich LPS
Littlest Pet Shop critters are small collectable animal figures with bobbleheads. I collected them when I was little, now I customize them. I find that to be much more fun to do. There's whole communities centered around customizing (painting over and/or adding new attributes to) Littlest Pet Shop critters, of which I'm part of...

Hi! I really like your LPS collection!
I have a group on Lps toys, both new and Kenner dolls, and I was wondering if you would want to add a photo to the group if you wanted!

I don't really have a collection anymore ahah. But I'm surprised you actually remember the old Kenner line of toys. They're cool.

Thanks, I used acrylics. I think. The paint's kinda blotchy, though.

What kind of paint are you using? Certain paints interact with the plastics giving them the "always tacky never quite dry" feeling. To avoid that, you'd want to first use a primer so the paint will stick better and not interact with the plastics.
I use Acrylic paint, because well, it doesn't interact with the plastic, and is easy to use and obtain.
In the future, I'd suggest maybe thinning your paint down a little bit, it looks a bit thick and gloopy in places and then just do multiple coats. (If your figure is a differnt color, prime him with some white paint or a primer first, so you don't have to keep slathering the layers. Colors always pop brighter when they are painted over white. )
Really cute character ^_^

Thanks! I appreciate your critique.
Well, I do use acrylics but I think the ones that I use that they're for painting on canvas and such :/ I did paint him in two layers of white at first, though.
Is primer a different sort of paint? Sorry, I'm quite obviously a n00b. xD
Thanks. :3

You're welcome.
Yeah artist grade acrylics can be quite thick, you can try thinning them with a bit of water before you start painting or picking up some "student grade or basic" acrylics but I wouldn't recomend "craft" grade.. hehe
I use liquitex or van gogh, they come in plastic see through tubes, they are a bit more thinned already compared to the artist grade stuff but not a watery mess like the craft stuff.
Primer is a paint, it preps the critter you are working on, like a base coat or a pre-painting coat. It makes the paint less likely to scratch and flake off, covers all unwanted colors and creates a barrier between any paints that might interact badly with the plastics. Like if you were to paint a canvas, canvas is just cloth kinda feels like your jeans, an artist has to paint it with a gesso first to give it a hard rigid surface that will take the paint better before he starts painting, or else buy it pre primed. I admit though.. I've never much used primers, I've only worked mostly with DIY toys that are already white, and I use inert paints that don't interact with the vinyl. I've heard many people use spraycan auto primers, or spray model primers. But unfortunatly I can't recomend any personally.
