Description
Taking a break from commissions for a moment to hop on the Sol bandwagon for the solar eclipse!This isn't fantastic by any means, but it was fun nonetheless. Now back to commissions!

Love how you put the eclipse with him.
To be honest, I think the eclipse kind of foreshadowed him in a way. The sun is bright and cheerful, just like Sol when we first met him, then dark and cold, just like he is later in the series.

Yeah, I did a little bit of a different style! I made the head more triangular and the muzzle less pronounced than my usual art, and I drew the eyes narrower and with less brush strokes. ^^ Good eye for catching that!

( btw judging by the comments I'm guessing there was an eclipse a few days ago? I don't really recall seeing or hearing anyone in my country talking 'bout it ._. )

Yeah, there was a solar eclipse on Monday in North America! The states got the best view- the sun was completely covered in some places there. ( everytime I see NASA's name I always remember they're the reason the majority of my nightmares have to do with black holes and the sun's red giant stage ;u; )

That's fair! I googled it and apparently in Ireland a little portion of the eclipse could be seen covering the sun, but was only visible with eclipse glasses or a strong solar telescope. I live in Canada, and about 70% of the sun was covered for me, though honestly I couldn't really see much of a change. It just got a little dimmer like a when a cloud goes over the sun.

Did you get to see the total eclipse? Where I live it was about 77% covered.

I'd say 80% was covered. If you looked at the shadows they would be all fuzzy, the tree in my front yard looked like it was covered in feathers!
I had just come from the beach where the full thing would be covered, but I heard from family members that it started to rain once it came around.

Yeah it got darker and less hot. My mom managed to get some photos of it and there's this vid this guy took of it from a cruise (ExploringWithJosh on YT).
Well the week before the eclipse, when I was down there, they were calling for tropical storms so I'm not sure weather they saw it or not.
