Ricefish In reply to ??? [2010-01-10 16:13:11 +0000 UTC]

Cheers. I've never seen your drawing or even heard of that domain, but I see where you're comin' from. The girl is a profile I've drawn several times with a cigarette holder, I just love the way they look. The ghosts were included as balancing filler, your smoke cancer idea is a nice one. I was actually gonna add little arms to the things at the bottom to make the look like hattifatteners, they really woulda looked like your cancer then, aha.

ABSALOOOTLY beautiful
but i was just wandering what's the significance of the "all seeing eye" you've drawn over the dragon/ large lizards face?
could u tell me
and could you pls tell me what colours/paper do u use? thank u

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ricefish In reply to greyskirt [2010-01-06 15:11:15 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! The eye doesn't really have a meaning, I just like 'em.
This is moleskine watercolour paper, but I usually use smooth bristol.

greyskirt In reply to Ricefish [2010-01-06 22:48:03 +0000 UTC]

thanks...i wanna try to draw something like that...try T_T
and about the eye, i asked because i heard its a satonic symbol, its on the dollar bill ya know? its like an icon for the antichrist or something like that i cant really explain that but if u would like to know more about what it means watch 'the arrivals' on utube, it explains stuff better, im not a good english speaker so i really elaborate...anyhoo keep up the good work

Ricefish In reply to greyskirt [2010-01-10 17:02:12 +0000 UTC]

You should! Just keep playing with materials until you find ones you enjoy, they don't have to be expensive! C:
Ah I see, I've never really looked at a dollar bill properly. Sounds like the symbol has an interesting history though, I'll have a look into it, thanks for sharing!

For fuck's sake, the eye stands for God. The eye on the pyramid is the Masonic symbol for God.

greyskirt In reply to raeth [2010-01-10 15:10:54 +0000 UTC]

well werent the masons satanists? i dunno, not really sure
but from wat ppl tell me they put that symbol all over the media, to show that they follow lucifer somethin like that

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

raeth In reply to greyskirt [2010-01-10 15:15:30 +0000 UTC]

I thought Satanists used inverted crosses and inverted pentagrams?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

greyskirt In reply to raeth [2010-01-12 04:54:56 +0000 UTC]

well from what i've heard and read, still not really sure you got to find that out via internet perhaps, is that a pyramid is the shape of satonic temples, even if u noticed in movies and whatnot they use the shape of a triangle for portals and dimentional doors to go to another world, thats how they let lucifer or jinn and satans in...to worship them...because they give stuff in return like fame, money..justt look at madona, she doesnt look too old its an interesting topic, u have to find out by urself i guess

Unf... again with the impressive sketchbookery! I'm a mix between pure envious and inspired :3

I love how the characters are uncoloured against a backdrop of magical coloured clouds, like a window to a different world. It gives this weird effect in my brain, as if I can see the characters AS coloured, without being coloured.

I am rambling now.

Love it though, love it :3

Ricefish In reply to nekophoenix [2009-12-01 03:37:36 +0000 UTC]

Thank yooou. Ah yeah, I love mixing uncoloured characters with painted backgrounds, and it's real nice to know you can go nuts with any background colours without losing your characters in the mess!

Ah cool! That's a neat way to think about it

Are you considering becoming a professional artist (if you aren't already that is!)?

I hope that you are, as it would be great for the wider community to see your brilliance!
Beautiful work once again.
The top piece could be turned into stationary - maybe the frog's words would have to change however..haha!

That frog made me burst out laughing.

Your colors are as crisp and sweet as ever. I love the playful dripping and smudging you did on the bottom.

I've wanted a watercolor Moleskine forever, but have hesitated from buying because of the price. Would you say it's worth it?

I've tried a normal Moleskine and it's lovely, but...but paint. You know.

Ricefish In reply to Persnickitii [2009-11-13 11:47:34 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

Well, I love the landscape format and I love the paper...but I love paint too 8D
If you shop around online you can usually find them almost half the price they go for in all those fashionable art shops, anyways

omg that frog is cute XD I like how that dragon's face is covered, too :>
can't wait to commission you one day > u < *saving money to buy that orange dragon though XD*

i wonder, uh, how is moleskine different from other papers/sketchbooks??

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

Ricefish In reply to Jirakotsu [2009-11-19 02:13:08 +0000 UTC]

Thanks!

Well all sketchbooks have different qualities, Moleskine is just a brand name. I hate the paper in the regular ones but the watercolour one is pretty sweet. I think people mainly like the plain covers and rounded edges, and the sizes are very handy.

Jirakotsu In reply to Ricefish [2009-11-19 20:48:08 +0000 UTC]

You're welcome! 8D

oooh, i see! I was looking into them recently and the watercolour looks pretty nice out of them all, I think I'll be getting one of those then * w *
plain covers and rounded edges are very appealing to myself, anyway = u =
