Description
The Asp Explorer from ELITE.The origonal game back in 1984 the ships were all wireframe blocks. I wanted to design a ship as if the game were created today. The ASP was this snake headed looking combat ship which was fast manoverable and had an enormous cannon on the front.
Ink lines, digital colouring using Art Rage and PSE6 for finishing up.

I like the shape of this one. Plus I like the organic look.It sort of looks like it has a shell. That makes it look alien.

Yeah i do like this one, I'm tempted to redo it at some point to tweak the cockpit area and alter the rear slightly.

Love it. I loved Elite and Frontier: Elite 2. The closest modern thing to them I can find is the 'X-Universe' series of games... but, just not quite the same, really...

I've started playing it at work. You build custom ships and research tech, basically civilization in space. With your love of ship design, I thought you might have partaken. A great oldschool game
