Description The Tholos  at the sanctuary of Athena Pronoia  (Ἀθηνᾶ Πρόνοια, "Athena of forethought") is a circular building that was constructed between 380 and 360 BCE. The Tholos is located approximately a half a mile (800 m) from the main ruins at Delphi.

The Temple of Apollo at Delphi housed the greatest oracular shrine in the ancient world. There is an extensive discussion in Wikipedia:  en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphi

The place itself is awesome, a wild mountainous valley with ruined temples.

The Greeks are good at sculpting marble from the same quarry that the originals came from into pieces that fit perfectly with the fragments. I have several photos of the Parthenon in my gallery showing where they have done tis on a large scale.

They are very beautiful! I'd love to travel and visit those areas someday to see them for myself. Over in the valley there was an exhibit at a major museum that was done on Pompeii. They had brought over samples of actual pieces from Pompeii and other museums to show there and it was amazing to see. I know it's not related to Greece as that was in Italy, however, the influence was still there. It was incredible to see.

I spent a week near Pompeii in 2015, visited the old city 4 times, took many photos. I haven't uploaded any yet, but there are several from Herculaneum in my gallery.

They are amazing! Thank you. I should see about uploading what little I could get from the museum. Their nothing like yours, but someone may like them.

Very much so. We hired a driver so that we could spend the day unencumbered by tour operators.
