Was the perfect circle contained in a perfect ellipse?

I'm not sure two perfections can co-exist, actually!

I htink this is my new favourite, Richard. Fantastic work

Thank you, Lewis! I really appreciate that.

I always say that there is no better standard of comparison than a perfect circle. Glad you see it my way.

It's perfectly logical
Although the logic may be a bit *cough*cough* circular *cough*

oh, give me a blue circle and a cup of coffee - well, that's .... perfect, actually
( and there are also corners, yes )

Maybe with Columbus the last experts on this issue has left ?

Mmmm... good point. Ancient expertise persists, though - in hidden and obscure places beyond our ken, awaiting the day it is needed again... sadly for those who devote their lives to it, that day may never come

... this often is the fate of even good scientists. they may get desperate about this issue sooner or later ...

well, i saw the 4 corners of the image, it was enough for me, i did not even think of the pun or wondered about it
love the blue, and the perfect circle that is not so perfect, that is not even a circle.
i can only see a bite.

thanks, i liked that imperfect circle too - and it does look like a bite
the pun was created by accident when i typed "cantos" into google translate instead of "contos"... it isn't important at all but i had to tell Lucia because i was trespassing in her language

"Corners? We ain't got no corners. We don't need no corners! I don't have to show you any stinkin' corners!" - Perfect Circle
And another mathematical sequence puzzle! I never did figure out the last one. I find these things intriguing and frustrating - probably because I'm not very good at figuring them out!
But you seem to find them interesting, too, at least in a creative way.

I knew you'd see the numbers as a puzzle but I'll have to tell you what these are - shoe sizes of several celebrities, so there's no mathematical pattern to them. But it's still fun to look for one, I find myself doing it!

(But thanks for settling my mind.
)
By the way, I thought the title was perfect when I first saw the collage. The Perfect Circle swatch was the first thing to grab my eye, and the title was a perfect ironic twist.

And thanks for that reading of the title, I saw that too - the title is "overdetermined" as they say

i immedeadely thought about cantos when i saw this ( because of the word Β΄contos Β΄ comes so close to it )
, itΒ΄s good that you fooled around the bilingual pun , but i donΒ΄t understand what corners have to do with it

RichardLeach In reply to 7markus7 [2013-07-08 12:44:55 +0000 UTC]
"cantos" is portuguese for "corners"

i keep looking for a reference to Ezra Pound , but thatΒ΄s apparently only in my mind , Β΄cos the original word was contos , not cantos .. but Pound endet up looking for corners from a circular room ..

RichardLeach In reply to 7markus7 [2013-07-08 20:41:11 +0000 UTC]
one could say that Pound painted himself into a corner, with both high gloss paint and very flat, poor quality paint...

(still trying to understand the title, though... )

RichardLeach In reply to m-lucia [2013-07-07 23:40:08 +0000 UTC]
the title is because of the corners in the lower part of the image and "contos" is so close to "cantos" - i should not have fooled around with a bilingual pun

Izaaaaa In reply to RichardLeach [2013-07-08 00:12:09 +0000 UTC]
i thought it had to do with contos i like the title!

well, i know what you mean... i suffer from that too although i try to convince myself that they're irrelevant... but recently i have learned that dates can be quite helpful!
