Alright - those locals often have a lot to lose in terms of real estate. So in this country the well-established middle class tends (25% in recent polls ) to vote for the green party in the hope that nothing may happen to their placid and carefree way of life. Care for the earth is not the (main) motivation (any more?) that the party has such a large reception these days.

I rather wish the USA had a green party, whether it would be mainly environmental or not... our two parties make a great show of sounding different but nothing has changed here since GWBush left office, it was at first a great surprise and now it is becoming a severe disappointment.

Yes, of course - that would be quite a thing ! A lot has changed here when it comes to political parties not only since the unification, but it certainly helped. even in the UK it seems that they have more than the traditional 2 parties. With the US? Too much interest of big money not to change as much, I would think ...

RichardLeach In reply to EintoeRn [2011-07-11 18:09:22 +0000 UTC]

I think that is true. There is immense wealth here in the hands of very few people, and they want things to stay as they are. Some legal restraints on the effect of money on voting have been annulled by our insanely right wing Supreme Court. We are stuck for the foreseeable future.

you are a genius with red as well. Wonderful.

That is the way the world of BIG business sees it. Alas, capital moves more freely around the world than people can.

thanks. me too!

speaking of colors, no one ever seems to notice my color-reversed cards -the suit of hearts is green rather than red. it adds a little something.

yes, not the first time you use, and not the first time we miss. a good question about how used we are to the incongruity of your work sometimes
the group of process is taking all the attention, it's not fair.

We have changed more than they will ever know or understand.
We will escape, no matter how the locals try to keep us in their tiny little world.
We are in process. They have frozen on the vine.
Goodbye you sleeping, dreamless, sad blue grapes.
We will be the wine.
