I'm a hat person. Only have one Fedora in my hat collection. Came across it purely by chance, very old, it was made in Paris. I replaced the inner leather head-band, it was all dried out. Love wearing it every now and then. There was a time when men always appeared in public wearing a Fedora. There was something very elegant about those days.

Yes, I agree. It was long ago now - they say it ended when JFK showed for his inauguration without a hat. But Fedoras are sweet. Put one on and you're Humphrey Bogart as Sam Spade. "No, I like to talk." And the fat man replies, "Ah, that's good, I like a man who likes to talk."

Thanks, I really appreciate that. It is a self-portrait, and the "I love it" was as important as the hat, I felt kindly toward so many people and things when I made it - still do this morning
