i'm glad to hear you say it's an odd winter - i was beginning to think it was my advancing age that made the winter seem odd. even mrs. wig will tell me that, and she is - ahem - very nearly my contemporary!

other things might be an advancing age issue [we won't go into those here], but the oddity of this winter is clearly an issue with mother nature and the local weathermen.

thanks, thanks... yes... no color outside... car sliding off the road last week because i needed new tires (got them yesterday)... snowing again this morning... just finished a big mug of tea, it helped a bit...

here most of the snow is gone now ... a few ugly, dirty piles here and there but incredibly many destroyed roads (dangerously deep holes) and all the sand still on the pavements ... for tomorrow and the weekend they announced new snowfall. it's crazy this year ...

not a good year at all. i know what you mean about sand... after the snow goes, the sand left on the road is a slippery surface.
