amazing I've tried to get some pictures of Osprey before. Predatory birds can be really challenging to photograph. lol, being at a bird show does help though I'm sure.

This fellow travels around Ontario regularly. He may even get to Kingston now and then.

Wow. A most excellent capture. That's quite a stare that guy is giving! I think if I were a mouse on the ground I'd be terrified to see this bird flying toward me... O_o

Truly a great shot! This moment is stunning and I can't help but feel that this is what the mouse must see in his last moment... oh, poor mouse... But great shot. Good job!

What an incredible shot and a great opportunity. I think the best part is that you can learn from it and go back.

I did get several good shots and have another of the owl with the wings right out. But then, I missed so many shots too.

That seems to be the way it goes for me too. Animals are just more difficult to shoot.

It was coming straight at me! When the handler called the birds, he would soetimes stand right behind our benches and the birds would almost fly though us to get to the glove.

Thank you Steve. It took me a while to find my continuous focus switch and even then, it wasn't easy to lock in these birds at close range. Now that I know what to expect, I will have to return there some day.

There is a Red Kite sancuary in southern Scotland that I want to visit one day. They are a beautiful bird are now becoming a common sight around Yorkshire after becoming back from near national extinction.

This particular show occurs every Sunday and they treat photographers well. They let you walk up close and snap the birds on their perches before the show. And they almost always fly the birds right at where you are seated so you can fire away for the whole flight (30-40 yards)

That's just how I work! I take pics, post them to DA, read the comments and take suggestions on board, then off I go to try and improve on what I have already done armed with new knowledge
