The last in the Conqueror Mark I series, the Mark IC was developed to incorporate lessons learned during the First and Second Oil Wars.

The combat system and sensor suite was thoroughly overhauled. A Commander's Multichannel Independent Viewer-Weapon System (CMIV-WS), which replaced the remote weapon station and the earlier CITVs, shipped a dual-band multi-channel FLIR to give the commander excellent detection capabilities. The gunner's sight was improved as well with its own dual-band FLIR. The sensor mast was also enhanced with an improved camera and a Ku-band array intended as a small UAV and missile detection system. Instead of two rotating cameras for close-in situational awareness, provision for a series of distributed turret corner camera systems were installed to provide more persistent awareness as needed. An improved battle management system and crew station layout was fitted to help the crew process the increased information made available by the new sensors.

Survivability was also addressed. Mark ICs incorporated Scutumis Beta special armour. It is rumored that its main improvement is in the application of new lightweight high-strength steel elements in its layers, mainly as weight saving measures while keeping protection at the same level as the Mk I/Mk IB. The Mk IC relies more heavily on active defences compared to previous versions. Soft-kill systems comprised the Mk IE Modular Passive Defence System (MPDS), which used six compact sensor units for 360-degree coverage to cue a pair of IR jammers on the turret bustle as well as fire a large complement of VIRSS grenades, given wider 360-degree coverage than in Mk I/IB. Hard-kill systems included the excellent and proven Modular Active Defence System (MADS), and was further reinforced with the Protector Full-Spectrum Active Defence System, which fires interceptor projectiles from a pair of VLS canisters to stop top-attack weapons at a farther distance, reducing the burden on the MADS and the Scutumis Beta special armour.

Armament remained largely the same, although the 150mm smoothbore gun was now fitted with a closed-breech scavenging system (CBSS) instead of a bore evacuator. While it has access to a now-standard array of jacketed and non-jacketed DU APFSDS, HE-MP, and guided KE and CE rounds as well as BLOS CSTAM and nuclear specialist munitions, the Mark IC has also provisions for accepting extending-rod penetrators and other new projectiles, if and when those prove viable.

Full rate production began in 2015. The Conqueror Mark IC currently forms the backbone of the Connori Army's armoured brigades, with approximately 7,858 in service (a mix of new-build and rebuilt Mk IBs) as of 2020. Production is set to continue at least until 2028.

Artist's Notes:
The camouflage on this tank is based off the "Berlin Brigade" urban pattern used by the British Army of the Rhine in the latter years of the Cold War.

31-Oct-2020 edit: Did some modest changes on the overhead view relating to the turret, as well as added a crew stowage basket in the back of the turret.
