Like you said, the colour scheme works amazingly well. I have found that although there is a massive burst of both green and red, the pale rose of her skin, the soft pink of her lips and her baby blues stand out really well. When i saw the mimi pic of this deviation I thought it looked quite good.

Perhaps the secret of DA is to post images that look good in a thumbnail.
No kidding, I race through channels 100 pictures at a time and sometimes only pause to click when something at thumbnail view catches my eye.
Perhaps with her shocking red hair this is why the series was so well received.

I will agree with you on that one.
An eye catching piece usually brings a lot of attention.
And perhaps it is the secret. I do art and poetry more than photography but as well as finding a picture that stands out, a title that pulls someone in is also the key. For us writers I think.
