Description

              With the lack of “adult supervision”, Roshi lecherously took the opportunity to make his way over to Celari. “You know, you’re a terrific fighter, but there’s still a lot more you could learn. Why don’t you come to my island and train under me?” Roshi slunk close to her slowly lowering his hand down her back. “There are a whole lot of special moves I could teach you…” he cackled. Celari was completely naïve to his assumptions.

                Just then, the side door opened and Celari’s eyes scanned over to a familiar pair of yellow boots. Walking in, Trunks found Celari’s gaze in surprise and the bomb erupted.

                “What the hell are YOU doing here?!” he yelled clenching his fists. Celari jumped to her feet and raised her arms up defensively, knocking over her chair and the turtle hermit.

                They stared each other down angrily.

                “Hey—whoa! Save it for the arena, you two!” Roshi waved his hands.

                Trunks stepped forward threateningly making Celari flinch, but he was quickly blocked.

                “Just what the heck are you doing, Trunks?” Bulma demanded of him. Trunks was taken aback. Chichi stepped beside Celari.

                “Mother—you let her into our house?!”

                “Of course, I did. She was half dead in the street. Just what’s your problem?”

                ‘Mother?...’ Celari realized.

                “My problem?…Do you even know what she’s done?!” Trunks’ voice continued to climb in decibels.

                “She hasn’t done anything, Trunks!” Bulma easily matched his volume.

                “NO? Why do you think that creature was here to begin with? It followed her!” he pointed his finger at her sharply.

                “Would you get a grip, Trunks! Celari’s not the one who attacked everybody,” Bulma tried to reason.

                “I don’t give a damn! She knew full well that thing was on her tail.” He turned his eyes back on her quickly. “None of this would have happened if she had thought for even a second about anyone else besides herself!” Celari’s eyes suddenly widened in realization as Trunks stared at her accusingly. “Go ahead,” he goaded at her. “Tell them none of this is your fault. I dare you!”

                “That’s enough!” Bulma stepped forward pushing him back. “She can’t talk, Trunks. Someone nearly strangled her to death and she hasn’t been able say two words.” Her authority over her son began to emerge when he leaned back as she stuck her finger into his chest. “But you wouldn’t happen to know anything about that, would you?…”

              Trunks paused awkwardly, but was still too fired up to back down. “Rrr—If you think I’m gonna put up with her being in our home—”

                “You don’t HAVE to put up with it, you hot-head!” Bulma pushed him to the door. “Now go get your ass to the care center and make yourself useful! If you’ve cooled your jets after a while then maybe I’ll let you back in for dinner!” She slammed the door in Trunks’ dumbfounded face.

                Celari stared at Bulma absolutely stunned. A woman twice his age and half his size was able to push Trunks around.

                “Gawd! I swear, the older he gets the more he reminds me of his father!” Bulma scowled.

                “Just what did Trunks mean? That creep was after Celari?” Chichi conjectured. Celari looked down in guilt. Trunks might as well have kicked her in the stomach.

                “It doesn’t matter!” Bulma defended Celari, more so because Trunks’ behavior ticked her off. “Celari wasn’t the one who attacked the stadium or the town. Blaming her won’t do any good for anybody!” Bulma projected with her fists on her hips, holding everyone’s attention. Celari looked at her gratefully and in surprise, then raised her hand to her throat.
