I think that The Ghost-Yoshi Sorta creature could be called a lot of things.
Here are the obvious and frankly unoriginal names I dismissed from my mind.
Ghostshi
Yohst
The name I actually think is good issss...
Necri.
As for the Moneybag.
Richie.

It's not a yoshi, it's an Anuboo from Mario & Luigi Superstar Saga

These are awesome! I love the paper mario style and you really did a good job with it. Squilt is adorable.

Good drawings! I am a big paper mario fan and I am even working on my own partners.
What do you think that the Wiggler's moveset would be like? Or what it would do outside of battle, for that matter?

Thanks.
I never really thought that out, so I don't know.

Great work, I really love these characters, they're really original and well thought out!
Anyway, do you mind if I draw these guys in a Paper Mario OC poster (with OC's from all over dA) It would be a pleasure to draw them!

Sure, you're a great artist yourself and I'm eager to see them drawn in an updated style.
Also, not to pry or anything, but I believe you mean FC, not OC.

Thanks, I'll get to work right away.
And yeah, sorry, my bad. I did mean FC.

No problem! Feel free to show me any progress if you want, in the meantime I'll watch you.
It's cool. I only asked because here on dA there are so many people who don't know the difference... It kind of hurts my brain sometimes when people call their Sonic recolor original, y'know? XD

Kalzai In reply to RidgeTroopa [2012-04-01 02:06:50 +0000 UTC]
Alright, although I prefer to keep everything until the end. I will, however, post a picture of all your partners only, if that's okay with you?
Well, seeing as many people use OC a lot, I tend to use that. But yeah, FC is more accurate.
True, that's quite mind boggling actually, how a recolor can be classed as original. XD

RidgeTroopa In reply to Kalzai [2012-04-01 04:15:41 +0000 UTC]
Mkay, sounds good to me! Your art after all.
There is a clear difference between OC and FC. People here on dA like being incorrect about most everything including this and most members will refer to FC's as OC's no matter what. Original character means original design, not based off of anyone else's character or species. A fan character is any character made from an existing species created by someone else - hence why all Mario characters made by fans are fan characters.
Recolors are only original to the "creator" and probably their friends/followers, because chances are they're a bunch of 12-year-olds or none of them get out much...

Okay.
It's done now: [link]
Fully understood now, thanks. And true, recolors require no imagination whatsoever, but I believe it's a good way for an inexperienced artist such as a 12 year-old, like you mentioned to start off learning art.

Exactly. Boom.
That's what I always say. Recoloring is some very good practice.

Oh wow, that's huge! Lemme switch over and comment there.
Yeah, I guess any subject is good enough to start off with.
It's mainly a problem, though, when the artist doesn't improve after doing the same thing for so long... And on top of that takes enough pride in a recolor to insert it into their own canon.

Kalzai In reply to RidgeTroopa [2012-04-17 18:09:34 +0000 UTC]
Yeah, I figured that would also be a negative aspect of it. I just hope that most of the people who start off doing recolor go on to improve and make their own material without tracing or using an already existing piece. After all, it's deviantart, and I don't think tracing or recoloring is classed as art.
And yeah, it's baffling to see how many people think that their red sonic with glasses is a serious character and can be seen as a legitimate character

RidgeTroopa In reply to Kalzai [2012-04-18 02:14:42 +0000 UTC]
I agree with you completely. As sad as it is, though, dA still does nothing about MLP tracing and recolors of official game artwork.
Of course, that's in part because the staff here lack brains... I should know, they removed all of my custom sprite work once.
👍: 0 ⏩: 1
Kalzai In reply to RidgeTroopa [2012-04-21 22:21:21 +0000 UTC]
Well, maybe because there are so little staff compared to all the characters that are being spewed out every minute, so they can't really check and thus they probably have something better to take care of, such as art thieves. Sometimes they do act though, but not always in the best ways.
And really? Man, that sucks. Maybe they should at least double check. Maybe someone false reported your work? That's happened in the past.

RidgeTroopa In reply to Kalzai [2012-04-22 00:50:43 +0000 UTC]
Eh, whether that' their excuse or not, it's still just an excuse... No point in running a site if you can't enforce your own rules.
Anyway, yeah, it was pretty unnerving. While I was flattered on one hand, on the other I was pretty ticked that someone decided to flag all of my work as "needing permissions." Not only that, but the only reason I was found was because a few days beforehand I reported legitimate theft; I assume that a staff viewed my page from the report form I submitted, which is so backwards that I don't even have words for it.
It's another reason why I have no faith in dA staff - on top of not doing their homework they don't five a flying money's ass whether they flag a legitimately good artist as opposed to someone posting boobs on the front page.

Kalzai In reply to RidgeTroopa [2012-04-22 10:35:45 +0000 UTC]
Well, that's true. Perhaps they should introduce a branch of staff dedicated to that, and should work properly.
I can imagine, and that must really suck, since all you did was abide to the rules and report theft. There wasn't any need to remove any of your work.
Well, that's it then, really. It seems a lot of websites have staff that don't even care anymore. I really dislike logging in and the first thing I see on the front page is "artistic" nudity or a recolor/manipulation of official artwork. Heck, I even saw a demotivational poster there once.

It's a nice thought, but highly doubtful. The only one that would have a bit of a chance would be the Wiggler, being that the other three are a bit obscure and all only in one game/series.

I'm actually making a giant Paper Mario Roster with many OC from other deviant and from my gallery.
Can I join one of your character to the lineup? It would be a pleasure! I was thinking ofthe starbag one!
