I <3 this game so much, but you already know that. I told you I'd get a decent fanart of it done sooner or later. xDI know everyone always says this, but it looks MUCH better in real life. D: The scanner eats things ;^;
At least 7 hours of work on this. At 1am last night I decided to draw, and stayed up til 5 working on it. >3> Wasn't tired at all too, it was weird... xD Just finished it a little while ago after picking it up again
As I said on the WIP, this is my second full traditional drawing like... ever. xD I'm a newbie at traditional so excuse it if it doesn't look all that good. o3o I pretty much was experimenting.
The background sketch was heavily referenced off a pic in the Okami art book because I just wanted to make sure I made the place look right. The finished drawing looks quite a bit different than the reference, but you will see the resemblance if you come across the image I used.
The ark isn't there and the lake is melted because this is after the events in the game xD

Once you have the catwalk, climb up to the elevated area along the coast (By the water close to where you enter) and make it nightime. Talk to the guy up there, then make a dot in the sky. The guy will wish on the star that appears, and the 'whirlpool galaxy' appears. You go out further and look up at it, then make swirls to get it spinning. Once you do that a couple times, the whirlpool appears below it |D

Okami is such a great game, it's a shame it didn't do as well as it should have ;_; I don't think I've ever re-played a game over and over as much as I have with Okami, it's just so addictive!
Anyway, I saw this and the colours just really hit me. Your traditional art surely is awesome, it's nice to see traditional art instead of digital art :]
Oki has to be one of my faves from Okami, although he does annoy me with his constant mention of Kutone :/

If it looks better then this in real life, it must be AMAZING! lol; great job. I love how you shaded the colors on Oki, it makes it bright, but not to distracting. Now I want to do a full out pencil crayon drawing XD.

Very well done, just one hint though. Don't be afraid to mix colors, especially for shading(like mix a bit of dark purple with blue). And you have to color very lightly where the highlights are.
I'm not a master though, I just learned that in art class.
