(EDIT: Now available as a 28" long print in my store !)Goddammnnn I'm glad this is finally finished. I started it a few months ago as a school project, but only got as far as lining and flatting the two dragons before I had to set it aside to take on an onslaught of other assignments. A couple weeks ago I finally picked it up again and started going away at the background bit by bit. x_x
It was interesting to try a new style... :0

It was really fun studying different medieval artworks and tapestries and then trying to apply it to Pokemon! Art history in general is one of those subjects that I never thought I would enjoy as much as I did in school, but I found it really quite fascinating.

Mainly by researching medieval heraldry and tapestries, then pulling a bunch of reference images of some and studying how the style was executed. Then I simply applied the techniques to Pokemon characters after a bit of sketching for practice. c:

I really like this style. Seems to looking at some medieval miniature manuscript, enriched by a modern touch. Beautyfull!!

Medieval art is quite a fun and interesting style to attempt an imitation of! Partly because you have to "break" some rules you're used to in art for it to actually work, like anatomy and perspective.

Oh, I don't think I'll be doing asks for them again. That was a pretty long while ago and I'm more interested in doing my own comic ideas. We'll see, though
